Kol was still reeling from the event’s that had been happening in the town, as much as he assumed the rest of the town was. Of course he had heard that Hope had been missing from the town while this all went on before seeing a newly triggered Hope appearing in front of the mikaelson clan when the attack ceased.

As he made his way down an alleyway with his arm slung around a younger male who appeared to be happy with Kol flirting with the male. Of course to Kol the male was only a meal. He soon stopped as he noticed his niece and heard her speak, with the male looking between the two. Kol’s grip on the male tightened to ensure his food didn’t escape him.

“Having fun with the compulsion and feeding, love?” he questioned the male with a smirk, “I’m gonna stay here and feed, so you wither share with your uncle or find somewhere else..” he teased the brunette.

Snatch. Eat. Erase.  Hope knew the drill.  The compulsion side of things had taken a few tries, but the blonde standing across from her in the alley behind Dr. Salvatore’s office was looking back at her with an eerie calm that couldn’t have come from anything but Hope’s suggestion to not be afraid.  It was her first feed since the one immediately after waking, and while part of her was terrified of getting it wrong she had to trust in herself and what she knew.

Leaning in, she sank her fangs into the woman’s neck and drank deeply from her, running a hand through the woman’s fine hair in a gesture that she was sure was meant to calm one of them - which one, exactly, she couldn’t say.  It was with a great deal of effort that Hope pulled herself away a moment later, wiping her lips clean with the back of her hand.  “Go,” she gestured to the blonde.  “Remember, you cut yourself on something but you don’t remember what.  Go home and clean that, okay?  And change the dressings every day until it’s healed.”

Only as she turned away did she hear footsteps approaching from the other end of the alley.  “Sorry, this creepy alley is taken.  Please try the next one.”

Jackson knew that, even if his conscious brain wasn’t willing to acknowledge it.  “And whatever it is, I’m going to kill it,” he promised with a ferocity in his voice and yellow in his eyes.  “I don’t know, you’re thinking a dozen steps ahead of me.  I tend to just pick a direction and go in it, that’s the way my brain works.”  He shrugged.  “I don’t know where we’d go, except toward the hospital.  But we’ll find Freya.  Maybe she can get us out of here.”  He didn’t believe Hope was anywhere near them, because she would have made her presence felt, but he supposed it couldn’t hurt to look.

Kol chuckled. “You know that plan and using that theory is going to get you killed... again..” he stated to the other. “Freya is going to be able to help us... probably better than anyone else...” he starts. “But we can’t just leave the kids here to fend for themselves... do you think Hayley would be happy to know you left those kids for her.... when she is able to take care of herself... I know davina would be seriously pissed if I did that..” he admitted.

Or do you just not know how to fight without one?”

Kol glanced over the male before laughing a little. “I don’t really know you, so I couldn’t say... but that answer tells me fight..” he pointed out. “Just what have you heard about us... we aren’t all powerful... and we have no idea what these things are... this just give me the ability to fire from a further distance before attemping and hand to hand combat with them..” he stated.

Nic raised his head within recognition, noting the impending thud of footsteps before offering a nod “fast enough.” The wolf began to recoil, looking towards their surroundings for anything that could become of use to either of them as a means of defence. “These things aren’t leaving me with much choice but to shift, but you can see how that would be problematic.”

Nodding his head, Kol moved behind the other as he to tried to find a way out for the pair without leading the creature towards the schoolkids. Nodding again, Kol sighed. “I do... but at this point I think we may not have much of a choice...especially if they head towards the kids...” Kol stated.

Freya looked between the books and Kol with a dubious glance.  The creatures did look like they could be from old stories, but she wasn’t sure if it was going to help kill them or not.  If they truly were legends become myths it was unlikely that the stories were accurate.  “As a witch who lived for a thousand years I suppose I shouldn’t rule anything out.  But if that’s what we’re dealing with, we’ll need to know what creatures they are before we can work out how to kill them.”

Kol responded to Freya’s remark with a shurg. “And as a thousand year old vampire... who has died twice and come back.... we can be the characters in these stories..” he teased. “We are in a school full of students who I hope would have taken a mythology class perhaps? I’m sure some of the creatures could be recognised?” he hoped. All he wanted was to get out of the school. “And I’m also hoping snapping a neck or decapitation would kill if not slow down most creatures at least..” kol questioned his sister rhetorically.

Kol had managed to get his hands on a crossbow and figures it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have something he could weaken a creature with before attacking them close up. As he moved his frame down the hall, he chuckled to himself as he heard another speaking. Rounding the corner, Kol looked to the creature that towered them before nodding. “Dude you aren’t wrong...” he stated aiming the crossbow up. “What’s your plan... fight or flea?” he questioned.

The scream that left Dan’s lips was one of pure shock as he rounded the corner and came to a halt face to face with a beast. His heart beat heavily against his ribcage as a hand gripped at his chest, emerald hues falling shut for a moment as he took a deep breath, a hand to his knee as he leaned over slightly to catch his breath.

As the male regained his composure, his gaze slowly rose again to look up at the monster, a laugh leaving his lips as he gave a shake of his head. “Dude, you’re one fugly bitch,” he stated.

A groan of agony urged from Nic’s lungs as his back hit the ground beneath the weight of the creature. He had been attempting to lead it away from his son’s but it had caught up with him quicker than anticipated and etched a talon into his abdomen. He began pushing it off as its gruesome saliva dripped over his frame, and he squirmed beneath it – before eventually, the weight upon his frame was gone and the creature was across the room. Nic’s head fell back with a thud, before Kol extended his hand and he took it. “Thanks” he groaned, pulling himself upright as he glanced towards the wound healing on his stomach, “what the fuck was that?”

Kol looked over his shoulder back at the creature when he extended his hand just to gauge how much time they had before needing to move or fight again. Pulling the male up with ease, Kol glanced over the stomach and then back to the male. “I have no idea... these things attacking are just crazy... nothing I have evey seen in my life before..” he stated. “We need to move though... or that things gonna come back... or we’re gonna meet something even worse..” he nodded. “are you able to move fast?” he questioned the wolf.

The school’s library of books was impressive, but only if one was looking for defensive spells and barriers.  The rest of it was pretty paltry, and Freya assumed if they had anything in the way of dark magic it was sealed up in Alaric’s office somewhere between the bourbon and the relics.  She closed one, pushing it aside and focusing on the next, looking up only when she heard Kol’s voice. “Right now, brother, I don’t have a good feeling about much of anything.  We need answers, we need them quickly, and I need to know how to kill things no one’s seen outside of stories.”

Kol watched his sister and although he had seen her looking desperatly for anything to help them. He sighed a little at her words,”outside of stories...” he repeated before he felt a thought cross his mind. Moving across the room to find the section needed., he pulled out a few books on mythology and fairytales. Throwing them on the table, Kol smirked. “We have witches working on protection spells....maybe we should be looking at those..” he pointed to the books he had just tossed on the table. “perhaps they are from stories... after all I’ve heard that we were story creatures in the past... so perhaps these stories are rooted in truth...” he questioned his elder sister.

Kol wasn’t high on the list of Mikaelson siblings that Jackson knew - in fact, during his time with Hayley they’d never actually been in the same room - but since coming back he’d managed to have a conversation or two with him and got along easily enough.  “I can’t get ahold of Hayley,” he muttered, rubbing his temple.  “There’s no service at all, it’s like someone just shut it all down.”  He grabbed his phone from the floor, though, just in case they could use it later.  “I don’t think the main gates are an option.  We’re going to need to find another way.”

Kol watched the male in his frenzy about Hayley and Kol understood the distress the other was feeling because of Davina. As the male explained what he figured happened to the cell service, he nodded a little. “Well I hate to break it to you, but I’m sure if whatever is doing this can cause all this carnage, and if they were responsible for turning us human... i don;t think cell service would be an issue..” he admitted. “The main gates are out  yeah... but there are children here who would just be left to deal with everything... plus my sister is here... and hopefully Hope too...” he stated. “Besides if we make a break for it... where do we go?” he questioned.

The dark cloud that seemed to have appeared over the town and the whole supernatural community of the town fighting together against malivore creatures reminded the male of his time in new orleans when they were working to protect hope and against esther. As he noticed the blonde wolf moving through the corridors alone, Kol followed. Attacting alone was not a good idea. As he moved towards the corner, he heard a thump and as he turned he saw the wold on the ground with a creature looming over him. IT was in a split second that he moved to grip the creature off guard and throwing him to the furtherst wall available. As he moved to the wolf, he extended his hand out.
