11 Weeks Post-Time for a Retouch
Tumblr media
It's been 11 weeks since I used Creme of Nature's Straight From Eden Relaxer System.  I really liked the way my hair turned out so this time around I decided to use the same products. The smell of these products is so good. None of that relaxer smell we've long since been aware of.  Also, not that I burn easily, but with this system, there is no burning.  Funny side note, I've never really timed myself when giving myself a retouch. Tonight I did. I though I was taking too long, but I actually wasn't leaving the relaxer on long enough. I don't like bone-straight results, but I was really not allowing it to process long enough. I have normal hair and according to the instructions, I should take 8 minutes to apply and 10 minutes to smooth for a total of 18 minutes. That 18 minutes took forever...LOL! I can't wait to see the difference.  Also I bought some Indian products (Alma Oil, Rosewater, Black Seed Oil, and Black Seed Mask). I will be incorporating these products into my hair regimen. Can't wait to see the results.

Hairlista Coconut Oil Challenge
Tumblr media
Hairlista.com kicked off the start of the Coconut Oil (CNO) Challenge last Saturday and I decided to participate at the Advanced Level. What this means is for the next 3 months I will incorporate the following into my hair regimen:
Apply Coconut oil to your hair and scalp, prior to washing, for 20mins – 1 hour or overnight. Massage it in focusing on damaged areas. Proceed with regular washday routine. Do this 2x/week.
Apply 1-2 tsp of Coconut Oil to your weekly deep conditioner with heat. Rinse thoroughly.
Apply Coconut oil to your scalp 2-3x/week. Do not rinse.
(OPTIONAL) Seal with Coconut oil on wet or dry hair.
The benefits of Coconut Oil are to Strengthen, Thicken, and Fortify your Hair.
Friday Night I did an overnight coconut oil pre-poo. Saturday evening I shampooed with Creme of Nature (CON) Straight from Eden Shampoo followed with CON Argan Oil Intense Condition and Roux Porosity Control.  For leave-ins I used CON Argan Oil Strength & Shine (Protein) and the CON Straight from Eden Leave-In (Moisture).  I allowed my hair to air dry and did a twist and curl for Sunday.  Sunday evening I moisturized and sealed with S-Curl, ORS Hair Lotion, and CNO.  I also did a scalp massage with a mixture of CNO and PPO.
Today, Monday, I am 10 weeks post relaxer and my new growth is in need of moisture. So tonight I will be concentrating on moisturizing my roots. I will also be bunning for the next week. We are expecting temperatures in the low to mid 90s so I'm not trying to wear my hair down. I moisturized with a AVJ, Glycerin, Water & Leave-In mix. I will continue taking my 10K mcg of Biotin and a multi-vitamin as well as increase my water intake.
I plan to shampoo my hair again Tuesday night.

Lighter Weight Moisturizing and Sealing products
As I mentioned yesterday, I'm trying to give my hair a little more love, this evening, I started my moisturize and seal process by oiling my scalp with the Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil and massaging my scalp.  Afterwards, I decided to revisit an old friend, Soft Sheen Carson Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Lotion and sealed with Grape Seed Oil My hair feels so soft and moisturized.  As the weather starts to get warmer, I start using moisturizing products that aren't as thick, and living in Florida, I'm already starting to make that transition.  What are some of your favorite moisturizing products?

Restarting my Healthy Hair Journey-again...
2 Weeks Post: I have struggled with the idea of going natural or going relaxed.  I must be real with myself. I am easily bored and having to struggle with my hair prety much answers that question for me-relaxed. Two weeks ago I tried the new Creme of Nature Straight from Eden relaxer.  First impressions, I love it. I have been playing in my hair ever since using it.  Tonight, as part of my wash day, I'm starting with a protein/hot oil pre-poo.  I'm using ORS Hair Mayonnaise and Tropic Isle Living Strong Roots.  I'll shampoo with Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo followed with a deep moisture conditioning with the Straight from Eden Moisture Conditioner.
Tumblr media
Strong Roots applied to the scalp
ORS Hair Mayonnaise to the length of my hair
1 hour under a conditioning cap
Shampoo with Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo x 2
Deep condition with Straight from Eden conditioner-under heat cap for 30 minutes
Rinse. Straight from Eden Leave-In Conditioner, MoraccanOil Oil Treatment, It's a 10, and CON Foam Wrap.
Air Dry/Blow Dry
RESULTS: Love the scent of Straight from Eden. My hair is super soft, detangling was easy. Loving these products. I'm interested to see how they work when I'm several weeks post relaxer.

Orly has a new collection out called Dark Shadows. I was in Sally Beauty and saw this small collection. I believe it has only 4 "new" shades. The one I like looked very familiar. I got it home and did a comparison...The new Orly Mysterious Curse is like a .01 shades different from the Orly Royal Velvet. RV has a little more of the blue iridescence. So IMO, you really don't need both, unless you are like me and are a polish addict, LOL! Just thought I would share to help if I could.
