“My favorite story out of this is Malia, when she was 4, she had a little dance thing. Well, Michelle was gone that weekend so I’m taking her to ballet. And I get her in her little leotard and her little stuff. I did her hair, put it in a little bun.
We get to the dance studio and one of the mothers there right away comes up to Malia – she thinks she’s out of earshot of me and she says, ‘Sweetie, do you want me to redo your hair?’ And Malia who she’s 4 says, ‘Yes please, this is a disaster’. You know, she didn’t want to hurt daddy’s feelings.”

Trump’s Muslim Ban Realized
Today on 1/27/17 Trump closed America’s doors to refugees, indefinitely, banned immigrants from several countries, suspended the Visa program, and effectively left untold numbers of people stranded–including those with Green Cards and especially those with no where else to turn who had already been approved to come here.
It is not a ban purely on Muslims, just on specific (majority Muslim) countries, so there’s a chance it could hold up in court.
He signed this executive order on Holocaust Remembrance Day. Even if he didn’t understand the significance of that, I have no doubt Bannon and the other nazis on his staff did.
This is monstrous.

VIGILANTES ARE TAGGING EGYPT’S SEXUAL HARASSERS WITH SPRAY PAINT
Despite worldwide publicity and campaigning, the approach to actually solving the sexual harassment epidemic in Egypt has sadly been a pretty apathetic one, with police giving less than a gram of shit about the situation, leaving street perverts to grope away until their hands are content. So it’s perhaps no surprise that anti-harassment groups in Cairo have gone vigilante, taking what’s left of the law into their own hands and patroling the streets to fight the harassment epidemic themselves.
We first heard about “Be A Man,” one of the more radical anti-harassment campaigns, from a story on NPR. The members of the group patroled during the recent Eid al-Adha festival celebrations, armed with cans of black and white spray paint, attacking, pinning down, and scarlet-lettering the shit out of grabbers and gropers with the words “I Am a Harasser.” Mostly men themselves, the activists wore matching fluoro jackets with “Harassment Prevention” scrawled across their backs in Arabic. I spoke to Muhammad Taimoor, leader and founder of the campaign, about their controversial tactics during the festival.
VICE: Hey Muhammad. Can you tell me a little bit about what’s been going on in the past few weeks? Muhammad Taimoor: Yeah, we’ve been working against harassment with our campaign, “Be a Man.” A big problem here is that women-only carriages on the subway are being invaded by men who are then harassing the women onboard, so we’ve been working against that. It was Eid a couple of weeks ago and we were expecting that would be a particularly bad time for harassment. In the three days of Eid that I participated in, we caught about 300 cases of harassment—that’s 100 every day.
Wow, good job. How do you “catch” these cases? Our tactics this time were pretty violent—a lot of people were offended because they didn’t like what we were doing. Basically, we attacked the harassers and spray-painted “I Am a Harasser” on anyone we caught in the act. The police weren’t at all supportive of what we were trying to do and they clearly weren’t ready to keep Egyptian women safe during Eid, so we did all the work on our own.
Why did you choose tagging with spray-paint as a tactic? Because, in our society, a girl blames herself when she gets harassed. When she speaks out to her family about it, they blame her. Sometimes they prevent her from going to school or going outside because they think that sexual harassment is the girl’s problem, not the harasser’s problem. So, when our group attacks the harasser, the girl feels confident in herself. She feels like she was right, she feels like the street is supporting her. She’ll have the confidence to walk in the street without fear and she won’t be afraid to speak out if it happens again.

I am. So angry.
Listen to me.
I do not care whether or not you believe vaccines cause autism. Even though studies have shown time and time again that vaccines don’t cause autism and the original study stating that there was a link with autism and vaccines was fraudulent, it does not matter.
The reason that people are concerned about vaccines causing autism is because they’re not thinking of the long-term. Here’s the truth: when you are choosing to not having your child vaccinated because you’re afraid of autism, you are actively choosing death over a neurodevelopmental disorder. Let me phrase that in another way – you are either picking autism or death. It doesn’t have to be the death of your child. It can be literally any child. And death is the worst case scenario. Autism is not the worst case scenario. Death is always and will constantly be the worst case scenario.
There are children who are too young to get vaccines. There are kids who have compromised immune systems that cannot get vaccines. Your child getting vaccinated prevents these illnesses from spreading and keeps those children safe. It’s called community immunity and it’s important to maintain that so people don’t die.
tl;dr - Stop being a selfish asshole and get your kids vaccinated. There are worse things in the world than autism.
And before anyone starts coming to my inbox screaming about how “I don’t know how bad autism can be”, I know. Not only do I have a neurodevelopmental disorder, but I also had a friend with a severely autistic brother that could not talk when he was fifteen. I know. And even after witnessing him and being through my own shit, I would still get my kids vaccinated because I want them, and other kids, to live.

Date Night
Imagine your OTP going to a restaurant they had heard good things about, but it turns out to be pretty underwhelming. They go home and cook better versions of what they ate there.
I’m not too sure where I got the prompt, but I won’t make it a habit of not giving credit.

A smile appeared across your face, though it did look strained. When asked around everyone had recommended the restaurant, saying that they held the best service around they also seemed to mention that the food was fantastic.
Of course, Hanzo would want the best for his lover. So when he heard the good things about the restaurant he made reservations. Although he was rather disappointed with the whole outing. You didn't blame him; the restaurant didn't reach the standers that had everyone set for it.
To list a few discomforts that you and Hanzo experienced. - The service was mediocre. A young woman, maybe in her early 20's couldn't keep up with the busy rush hour. You did take pity, but when Hanzo had grabbed her attention to ask how long it would take for her to get your order, she snapped and stormed off to serve other tables. Your eyebrows furrowed at the waitress; you watched her figure walk off and disappear into the back.
- After thirty minutes of waiting, finally another waiter had come around. She apologized for the delay and asked for your meals. Once she was done jotting down orders, she smiled and walked off to the kitchen. The mood had seemed to lighten up though Hanzo didn't appear to satisfy.
"I'm so sorry; I know that I had only fed you praise about this place. But..." He paused long enough for him to grab your and knead your hand with his thumb. "...I did not know how horrible it was." Your features softened at his words. You knew how much he was looking forward to this moment and so far it was ruined. You raised your eyebrow at him. "We have the food to look forward too." A smile on both of your faces seemed to make the whole restaurant appear brighter.
It came quite quickly. With the food placed on the table, it looked beautiful. The salmon was glazed with lemon, while there was asparagus a side dish. Your mouth is watered, you reached for a fork before being interrupted with Hanzo. "Wait..." He said with a stern yet hushed voice. Your eyes scanned him for any cause and raised an eyebrow. "What the matter?" You said frozen in place.
Watching him carefully, he grabbed his knife and fork and swiftly cut the salmon in half with such force the knife left a mark on the glass plate. With a lift of a fork, his eyes narrowed and glared at the dish. He calmly sat up from the chair and placed his jacket over his shoulder before making his way over to your side of the table.
"We will go and make a better dish." His hand stuck out for you to grab. You pushed yourself from the table and reached for his hand. "You're not going pay for the dish? I'll pay then." Before you reached for your wallet, he placed his hand on your arm. "Why pay for something we didn't enjoy?" His arm snaked around your waist and lead you out of the restaurant.
Before going home, the both of you made a stop to the grocery store and bought: salmon, lemons, asparagus, rice, teriyaki sauce.
When both of you reached your apartment, you both sighed with relief. Silent filled the kitchen, you rested your arms on the island that was placed in the middle of the kitchen and look around for Hanzo. The lights were off, so it was kind of hard to see. A noise caught your ear, but you dismissed the noise thinking it was the wind. But last time you check the wind couldn't hug you by the waist. Your eyes widened and reached for the nape of the neck. The attacker noticed that you were startled and push their weight. "What are you doing? I'm not allowed to hug my own wife?" He said while his head was between your shoulder and arm.
You removed your hands from his neck and cleared your throat. "I simply that you where an intruter." You faced him as your face was warm with embarssment. A smile appeared across Hanzo’s face as he chuckled. “Shall we start?” You said interrupting him. He walked towards you and reached you face. You leaned into his hand and smiled at him. Slowly he leaned down and placed a soft kiss on your lips.
