time travel AU where r2d2 is the one who goes back to the clone wars but not in the standard ‘same body new memories’ way. now there’s just two r2s running around the galaxy: one trying to kill the chancellor and another that could be easily convinced to kill the chancellor. their meeting wouldn’t have any time travel ramifications besides doubling the number of r2 units trying to kill the palpatine. this efficiently doubles as c3po’s personal hell.

"wealth" means different things to different people. for me it means being able to live quietly and comfortably, adopt a pet, donate to charities I care about, be able to take care of myself in my old age, and eventually leave an inheritance to my loved ones, who will then be forced by the stipulations of my will to be locked at midnight in a Mystery Mansion and solve an elaborate series of puzzles while being mysteriously killed off one by one. and i don't think that's so much to ask

#this would be roughly thirty years after the end of the Punic wars#the Romans would be campaigning into Gaul and north Africa around then#not having much luck but still#Velma would be part of the first two generations born after the Roman conquest of the Greek states (roughly)#so she likely grew up on stories of Roman aggression#and would likely push them to get out of the italian peninsula and into the balkan states#eventually going into greece and down the eastern edge of the Mediterranean#theyre almost a century early to try and debunk anything Jesus does (imagine them trying)#eventually getting down to alexandria and Giza to stop some grave robbers trying to “haunt” an old pyramid/tomb site#before the Romans get around to expanding into those regions

Now I'm just imagining how different things would be during the "Hondo captures Dooku" episode, namely with Hondo finding the Council number on Dooku's comm and popping up in front of the entire high council during a strategy meeting. Also, the thought of Anakin knowing exactly what to do to annoy Dooku the most would make the escape attempt sequences SOOO much funnier.
the Jedi High Council have had the same comm code for decades
possibly centuries
this means that Dooku still has it memorized
he obviously uses this knowledge for nefarious purposes
by which I mean he calls the Council to gloat every time he achieves a noteworthy victory on the battlefield
this continues for the first several months of the war, until a frustrated councilor finally pesters an overworked Space IT Specialist to block Dooku’s personal comm
however, Dooku is not about to let that stop him
he just starts calling from blocked or unknown comms
and the Council can’t just not accept unrecognized comms! that’s how many of their field agents report in, especially while undercover!
so they have to put up with all of Dooku’s gloating
then, about a year into the war, a particularly tired Obi-Wan tells his former padawan about Dooku’s holocalls to the Council
and Anakin has a brilliant plan
first, he asks his wife what she finds most annoying about him, and practices cranking that up to 11
then, he asks Obi-Wan if the Council would like a secretary
Obi-Wan, confused but perpetually exhausted, agrees to give him the position
it takes about a week of sorting paperwork and fielding calls from various Senators complaining about the effects of the war for Dooku to call, ready to gloat about his Apprentice’s latest victory
this time, however, he isn’t met with the images of the Council
he’s met with a smug Anakin Skywalker
who has been preparing for this for weeks
he is Ready
suffice it to say, Dooku does not try to call the Council ever again
