I suddenly took my hand back when I heard her cry.

“I’m sorry she just looks cute. So she is Su-san and you are Medicine. Nice to meet you two. Can Su-san talk? What are you and what’s your ability?” I couldn’t help but ask as I was very curious about new things today.

          ❢❢ — ｢ wow, you ask a lot of questions, don’t you? ...that must mean you know a lot❢ ｣

🞩🞩 — not that she minded. she was happy to be able to talk to others like this, even if it did seem one-sided.

          ❢❢ — ｢ su-san talks a lot❢ but you’re not allowed to hear. and i can control poison❢ i can do really neat things with it. ｣

And here the earth god was- floating on water in the Great Toad’s Pond. She was having fun as she would watch some toads jump onto lily pads, they were amazing creatures… Suwako looks up once she notices someone was there.

“Oh, hey are you here to admire the pond or play with the toads and frogs?”

A simple and random question but as long as it removes any awkward atmosphere that was beginning to sprout. Also to make sure it isn’t the person who freezes frogs.

🞩🞩 — the doll squatted down near the edge of the pond, watching the person there. she nearly jumped when she heard the other speak. it really wasn’t just some body left there to float about❢

          ❢❢ — ｢ oh...you were alive? i saw you from far away, and then i got curious... ｣

🞩🞩 — that certainly leaves a great first impression. she hasn’t touched up her social skills enough to realize that saying such things would come across as rude.

there   she   went,   fully   submerged   under   her   makeshift   tomb.   though   displeased   by   the   dirtied   state   of   her   clothes,   the   fledgling   curled   her   body   under   the   soil   to   rest,   as   though   waiting   to   bloom   like   a   seed.   despite   the   bugs   which   crawled   on   her   skin   and   the   stench   of   deep   earth,   she   found   herself   to   be   mostly   comfortable   in   the   darkened   space.

             ♡ —— ❝   i   won’t   be   here   long.   just   ‘til   nighttime.   so   please   pardon   the   intrusion~   ❞

          ❢❢ — ｢ oh, i see. well, i don’t really mind how long you stay. ｣

🞩🞩 — after all, not many come around here. being able to hold a conversation with someone was a pleasant surprise. she thought to try hiding underground herself to avoid the heat, but something like heat didn’t bother a doll. even so, staying under there for so long, wouldn’t it feel weird?

          ❢❢ — ｢ you look like you’ve been there for a while. and this time of year, there are a lot of bugs, too... ｣

I smiled as I tried to touch the small fairy.

❢❢ — ｢ ...er, cause it’s dangerous. ｣

🞩🞩 — she says so, but the reason is really because she doesn’t want anyone to touch su-san. a childishly selfish reason.

❢❢ — ｢ uh, she’s su-san! and i’m memi...medi...? medicine ❢ my name is medicine ❢ ｣

the   fledgling   seemed   awfully   proud   of   the   trench   she   had   dug,   sharpened   nails   caked   with   mud   as   she   scratched   her   cheek   softly.   crimson   eyes   squinted   as   flandre   looked   up   to   the   stranger,   almost   completely   burrowing   once   more.

             ♡ —— ❝   it’s   hot   and   i   felt   like   a   pancake!   so   i   came   under   here   to   cool   off!   ❞

         ❢❢ — ｢ really? you dug all that with just your hands? i think that’s cool ❢ ｣

🞩🞩 — medicine often dug little holes to plant flowers, but never enough to fit a person. it seemed so time consuming! (even though the doll never does anything)... she squatted down, watching the girl in her little ‘shelter’.

        ❢❢ — ｢ i thought the ground is hot, though. is it? it’s already pretty warm up here... ｣
