Hi everybunny. When I heard that BUTCHER VANITY was being removed from many Chinese websites, I hurried to the Bilibili upload to take some screenshots in case it was next. (It was.)

Here’s a screenshot of the video and a message left by FLAVOR FOLEY for Chinese fans.

At the time of my screenshots (June 27, 2025), the video had 4.9 million views. Now, it is no longer available.

There will be reuploads, but I’m still really sad… I feel bad for FLAVOR FOLEY, as well as the Chinese fans.

UPDATE / July 2nd: Chinese users report that attempts to reupload the music video to bilibili and other video/music streaming services were unsuccessful; it is automatically blocked

UPDATE / July 8th: screenshots of a QQ group chat emerged where users conspired to mass report Butcher Vanity and get it taken down! Unfortunately, my Chinese is not good enough to understand the text messages well. From what I glean from commenters, this is a group of young kids who mass report vocasynth songs for fun. Is this really what caused the mass takedown? I’m skeptical, but it is interesting.

UPDATE / July 9th: Unhappy Chinese users are contacting the police about the QQ group

UPDATE / July 13: Following rumors that the QQ group is targeting Binomi MARETU, Binomi has been taken down from Kugou. Maybe the QQ group really is responsible for these takedowns.

I’m really struggling with using my drawing tablet and Krita. They just don’t feel comfortable to use, no matter how I adjust the settings. Am I destined to go back to drawing on my tiny laggy little phone screen? I really hope not.
