eleanor was rich after selling part shares in her grandfather's company, perhaps more than when she ran it as she had more time to do what she was good at - she'd never been one much for numbers. still, it wasn't lost on her that she appeared to have more money than sense. her eyes flickered down as logan touched her shoulder; if it would have been anyone else, she would have jumped out of her skin. "i just thought that-" she turned around again, just to catch sight of a different photographer before bringing her head back around quickly. eleanor wasn't naive i that she knew that she could have thoughts not based in reality. "it's fine. i expected there to be a lot of people but for some reason, i didn't think they'd be this many.
eleanor looked over her shoulder for the individual that had said it to her but they were nowhere to be seen. "uh-" the woman turned back, looking a little confused. now she was worried that the entire thing hadn't even been real. there was a possibility that she'd overheard someone talking, not even about her, but applied it due to how she was feeling. "i thought i heard-" she shook her head. "it doesn't matter." now, tears were starting to form against her will. 'don't. cry. there are cameras, eleanor.' was that her own mind or her mother's voice?

"oh-" kiri's eyes widened - she wasn't looking for money at all. "actually..." it had been even bigger than the one from california two years ago that tipped her just over the billion mark before taxes... it was the unthinkable... "well, uh- leo..." she laughed. "actually it's sort of funny. my friends and i were partying and we went into a stopre to get, like, i don't know, cigarettes, o vapes or crisps or vodka and i got a lottery ticket as a joke and... thank goodness, i didn't lose it that night because i woke up later in the morning and had a look and... yep." she was trying to sort her dad out with a better house first, wherever he wanted and then she'd look to trying to progress her career from shop assistant to something better. "i'm not a gambler, i've played it like four times and..." she puffed and brought her hands up to her head as if it exploded. "but should i move out of my bedroom in queens? i'm not so sure. what if i blow it and then have no money? that's what usually happens, right?"
"stop flattering me," he grumbled, though he couldn't help the smile that graced his visage. "if you need money, i'll have you know that i'm far from a millionaire." and he would likely never be, no matter how popular neon nostalgia got, considering his whole thing about hating rich people. he welcomed the hug, though it came with a faux scoff. "fine. that's true," he admitted. "what have you been up to, kiri?"

old habits die hard and tonight was no exception. it was overwhelming in there, maybe eleanor had picked the wrong time to show her face again at a public event after months of not being seen anywhere - not that it mattered as she was an artist so wasn't meant to be in front of the cameras. cigarette in mouth, the woman searched in her tiny bag. "fuck." she mumbled. "please can i borrow a light?"
𝐰𝐡𝐨 : .. maggie & anyone ! 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 : ... outside the box , kimmy jimmel's birthday celebration
maggie leaned against the railing outside the party venue, a half-smoked cigarette dangling between her fingers. " don't judge me right now, " she hummed, feeling a pair of eyes watching her, a mix of self-awareness and amusement in her tone. " i looked it up and apparently they don't count when you're drunk. " she added, the smell of alcohol on her breath. " it will be out of my system by morning. "

that was a thought that kirika had completely forgotten about - there would be lists?! "oh no..." the young woman's eyes widened as she looked down at herself and then at the glamorous person beside her. "i think it's going to be me... is it best that i make my instagram private now before the haters find me or should i make a new one for a 'public' one? i mean-" she sighed. "they won't write about me, right? i'm not really anything special, i just got invited and thought it would be a fun time to go to a fancy, fancy party."
open starter ›› kimmy's birthday celebration.
❝ i'm dying to know, ❞ she began as she gracefully sat down beside them, the club lights highlighting the sparkle in her eyes, ❝ who you think is going to end up on the best and worst dressed list? ❞ business mode had mostly been left back at the office, but it hadn't kept her eyes from noting the outfits people had chosen to wear. her own opinions locked away behind sweet smile for now.

" course you do. always. why, what's wrong ? " as she snacked on an hors d'oeuvre, dark brown eyes searched around for whoever could've made eleanor think differently, knowing exactly how sensitive she could be towards comments of that nature.

despite growing up with immense privilege attached to her grandfather's family name, eleanor felt like she was on a completely other planet to the well-accomplished actor that stood before her. she did like his work but couldn't really understand what he was saying. of course, eleanor's mother had her team on 'clean up' duty until they were against each other and the woman attempted to use everything she'd supposedly squashed to embarrass her in a court setting. "i don't think there's anything fun about it, honestly." perhaps the artists need for little attention had led people to become more interested in her - having the opposite effect that she wanted and becoming an enigma. "i feel like i don't have a lot of dignity left so i'd appreciate keeping what i have, thank you very much."
femme's comment sucked the life out of him - even all the powder in his system could not keep up the smile, his thespian skills left behind ⸺ bastian wonders when people will learn to live a little. a scandal never hurts your reputation - not when there's millions of people swooning over charming smile and hercules - like appearance. " where is the fun in that ? ⸻ their trouble is our gain, " he points out, the green - billed notes on his bank account served a purpose - to pay his publicist and social media manager, his messes are theirs to clean up. what a guy he is : helping out the economy just like that.

there was a question as to whether the woman should have been drinking on her medication at this time but after a few hours of holding out, she'd finally given into people offering them to her or inviting themselves to go to the bar with her. "it's nice to see people but i hardly think i'm going all out." eleanor, despite starting out as quite reserved, could be caught up in the vibe and let herself go quite quickly. "no, the plural is definitely viruses." she gave leo a sure nod. "they're really cheap if you're on what i get for a piece but to every day people, sure, it's a lot of money. like buying a cd but buying the same cd per month." she shrugged.
"well, i'm glad to see someone else having fun." leo's probably just a fucking sourpuss. he'd accepted this by now. "i'm... well, you know i'm the grinch." he sighed. "i'm trying to watch a movie on my tablet, but i refuse to pay for a streaming service subscription. so i've mostly just been accumulating viruses on my device." a pause. "virii?"

"i'm not that active on social media, leo! i thought you knew this!" that was partly true - she used it to post stories of her at parties and would message a few people whilst excitable and under the influence but wasn't one to post religiously. "making fun of me already, ah!" she was quick to wrap her arms around him. "i can't believe it's you! though, i guess you are a superstar, now!"
"who else would it fucking be, kiri? don't we follow each other on our socials? you can't recognize this handsome face anymore?" he muttered, though he couldn't help a small smile from slowly stretching on his lips. "so ridiculous." he rolled his eyes, though he hoped his childhood friend didn't take it too seriously.

@starryid (event with logan)
"do i look okay?" the woman was speaking before she was even at the other's side. eleanor shouldn't have looked into it too much - the photographer had looked a bit tipsy but now it was playing on her mind. she'd tried her best to make herself look fresher, even hiring a makeup artist just to cover her bases and yet, she still didn't feel like it had covered anything. perhaps she looked tired, not quite there but she wasn't sure. she should have dropped it - it didn't matter yet now it was in her head and she couldn't shake it.

"uh- maybe another drink? then i'll probably get going." she was moderating herself because the last thing she needed was to get drunk when she was still trying to deal with symptoms. "yeah, things are balancing out again, i think. there's just a lot of people here." it was lovely to see people but she was a little on edge about it. "how about you? how are things going?"
his shoulders relaxed when he realized that eleanor had simply zoned out. although she was almost two decades older than he was, leo considered her to be a good friend. he tried to lighten up. "i was just asking if you needed anything," he said. and that had been more or less what he'd said, though the delivery was much sweeter this time. "it's nice to see you too. you okay?"

"woah-" the lifting up at the camera prompted the woman to put her hand out but she did realise that at least some photos of her needed to be taken so that there was proof of her being there but also some that could be used by outlets from getty. her brow furrows harshly at what she sees as an insult. "i look tired, right? or is the lighting just really bad here?" she shook her head. "sorry, i'm just a little confused as your job's not to criticise my appearance."
𖥸 ─ open starter ; kimmy jimmel's birthday

he's working - technically - despite the camera hanging around his neck seeing little to no action considering his current state of inebriation. " SMILE " he slurs, bringing the device up to point & shoot. " yikes - you've definitely looked better ... or am i just a bad photographer ? "

"don't put that out into the universe." the woman chuckled. "it would be great to get through the thing without any scandals." eleanor was aware she was being filmed at some points and it did make her feel uncomfortable. she'd previously been in front of them when she was a child and despised it; she was quite content with her relatively quiet life as an artist (she already had enough to deal with)...
digits tighten around crystal tumbler filled with amber liquid, throwing drink back as dark hues look around the room. " who is most likely to get caught up in a scandal, my money's on the hostess herself, " he speaks out loud, knowing at least one person in the small circle around him will reply.

kirika was walking around with widened eyes as she was seeing so many familiar faces and she was a fan of most of them - what was she doing here? it wasn't the first time she'd asked that question. it was clear from how she was dressed that she didn't know what to wear and it made her stick out a little. "oh my gosh! you're quinn sinclair, i-" she smiled. "i love your music. and i love margaritas, too!"
˚。⋆୨୧ 𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚛 : kimmy jimmel's birthday
" i recommend the spicy margarita . " quinn points out , flashing a wide grin to the person standing beside her at the open bar . the party was booming with chatter and music , so grabbing a drink was a necessity for the blonde . " that is if you can handle your tequila . "

turning around, kirika's eyes automatically widened as her eyes looked at the other. "oh my gosh, no way! leo?! is that you?" was it leo? what if it wasn't and she'd just embarrassed herself? not that it mattered as she felt way out of her depth being here - why had she even been invited?
open starter at kimmy's birthday party. note: your muse does not need to actually be "staring" at him! they could've just glanced at him or your muse is overhearing him talk to someone else.
"sorry, but can i help you at all?" leo sounds palpably annoyed, which he kind of is, but he's also incredibly anxious and self-conscious, and that's less apparent. he tries, though — really tries, tries to maintain some semblance of calmness and politeness.

it had been clear that eleanor's mind was somewhere else when she'd zoned out for a few moments, only to be brought back by a familiar voice. "oh, sorry, leo. did you say something? it's good to see you." she'd wanted to see him but she'd been trying to sort out her head alone.
