Rob: We got this question that weāve been avoiding because itās a lot of words. When Castiel is talkingĀ to Dean in a truck about being human, the line that was aired is a different line that the script reads.
Ben Edlund: Sure.
Rob: So the line that aired is, Castiel says āI used to belong to much better club and now Iām powerless, Iām hapless , Iām hopeless, I mean, why the hell not bury myself in women and in decadence, right? Itās the end, baby, thatās what decadence is for. Why not bang a few gongs before the lights go out. But then, thatās just how I roll.ā But the script reads āBut instead we become this. The only thing, I think,Ā we have left, Dean and me, is each other. If Dean says itās time to get out in the blaze of glory, win or loose, so be it. Iām in, but then, thatās just how I roll.ā Itās just an interesting little difference.
Rich: Well somebody had to rewrite that, right?
Ben Edlund: Sure, I mean, like that was either a rewrite based on a note or something that- itās possible that there was a shift in language that came from a pass through Kripke. To me that feels like a rewrite based on ā Ok, we know what the subtext is, bury it a little bit.āĀ
Rob: Gotcha.
Ben Edlund: Because, you know, itās more interesting to know that an then have language kind of beĀ less to the core. I mean, maybe not, sometimes you really want to go to that core.Ā But it didnāt seem necessary in that moment because look at the larger context. This guy is still hanging around. Heās going on a mission. And previously in the prior scene when heās kind of like, when we used the word insouciant for the first and last time in Supernaturalās history. I believe, unless it gets quoted later in 15 seasons and I missed that. At that point he is totally ride or die with Dean. Heās basically āYou say we a going on a suicide mission and thereās no hope or whateverā and Deanās going āYes, thatās what Iām sayingā and he goes āOkay, let me go get the truck.ā And so, in a sense, it was like- I wouldāve done the same thing today. If that makes sense. Looking at the whole.Ā
Rob: I like the idea of burying it more and not serving it on a platter. Letting people-Ā
Ben Edlund: Mainly because all the other aspects of that story tell us that. Show us that, actually. Thatās the whole thing. Show us, not tell us. Iāve heard that at some kind of seminar.

It's actually crazy talking to friends and relatives about what's going on because very few of them know that this is a retaliatory attack. I keep seeing people online call the attack unprovoked too.
So those who don't know, on April 1st Israeli warplanes bombed Iran's consulate in Damascus. The attack killed 7 of Iranās military advisers including 3 senior commanders.
Reuters reporters at the site in the Mezzeh district of Damascus saw emergency workers clambering atop rubble of a destroyed building inside the diplomatic compound, adjacent to the main Iranian embassy building. Emergency vehicles were parked outside. An Iranian flag hung from a pole by the debris.
Iran's ambassador to Syria said the strike hit a consular building in the embassy compound and that his residence was on the top two floors.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement that seven Iranian military advisers died in the strike including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in its Quds Force, which is an elite foreign espionage and paramilitary arm.
This attack on the embassy is against international law. Embassies are protected sites. But instead of condemning the attack and putting pressure on Israel, the US has spent the past week and a half calling West Asian countries to put pressure on Iran, with Biden going as far as to warn Iran not to attack Israel and saying that his support for Israel is 'iron clad'.
The West, the UN, and UN Security Council have largely failed to condemn the attack which means Iran has no choice but to retaliate with force in order to prevent future attacks. Otherwise, the country will look vulnerable and weak, especially to the Israeli occupation government which has spent months bombing neighbouring countries like Syria and Lebanon

the flour massacre is ongoing. it is everyday. it was not an isolated event. it was not even the first time israel shot at and killed palestinians going for aid (they do it whenever they allow aid through). in fact, they did the exact same thing yesterday morning. just because smaller-scale murders go under the radar for lack of shock factor doesnāt mean theyāre not happening continuously.
