Lazy day, played goalkeeper for my two sons just for old times sake even though they stroke the ball way too hard now for me to even dare trying to save.

Finished booking all the hotels for our 2 week NorCal - South Oregon road trip

Worked on my tan and enjoyed a lovely bottle of Rose with Dea by the pool.

And finally a trip downtown to see a Martin and Cindy’s art show ended up instead being a simple delicious set of sharing plates at the restaurant VIN after we discovered that the art show tickets were $75 each.

Friday

Acer is home so we are back to full family at least for a couple of weeks. While they all went to Costco for summer grocery stockpiling I went weeding to remove all the old poppies and then started to plan our mini road trip.

Then Teo persuaded us to visit the Golden Gate Bridge where idea and I hiked across for the first time while he ran with Matt, Silvia, Roman, Davide and Alicia.

Thursday

Two more rooms deep cleaned and now busy working on my tan.

A 9.2 mile mountain bike ride in China Camp keeping Teo company as he ran wiped me out but it was a beautiful re-entry to riding.

Wednesday

House cleaning day. After a long sprint of events we are finally starting the summer vacation with a clean!!

Common areas today, bedrooms and bathrooms tomorrow. It’s 86 degrees so we need to leave some time for the pool.

Monday

An early start, a smooth quick drive back to SR, a change of clothes and car and a timely drive down to Santa Cruz for college graduation.

Acer, Andrea, James and Eric were all celebrated in the beautiful afternoon light before we had a fantastic dinner with Andrea and her parents at ‘Home’ in Soquel.

Sunday

A late start to ensure that the kids made it off safely and then Dea and I got to spend a glorious afternoon on the beautiful north east shore of Tahoe amongst the boulders between Secret Cove and Whale Beach.

Saturday

Dea and I left the kids to fend for themselves while we did a huge 13 mile hike up 2000ft to Stanford rock overlooking Lake Tahoe.

Returning to lake level 6 hours later we treated our feet to a dip in the lake and ourselves to fresh poke, ceviche and drinks at the River Inn.

Friday

An exhausting day getting Teo and his friends up to Tahoe. Highlight was coyote pizza in Auburn on a beautiful Friday evening and binge watching dark in the iPad while the kids took over the place.

One more tree planted, new shed location signed off with the neighbor, and pretty much the last day of high school for Teo. He went to enjoy senior sunset up on Bolinas ridge and Graduation is tomorrow!!

Moved two fruit trees in anticipation of the new shed location. Hoping they like it better in their new spot.

Sunday and Monday

Not much to report as I’m been coping with a cold but I did get two small painting jobs completed, finished another book and paid off the car loan and mortgage so we are almost debt free.

A successful completion of the raised bed pathway, a call with Yoojin, some sunbathing and an evening rose on a beautiful NorCal day.

Patio perfection, and SR awards night where Teo joined his brother on the illustrious blanket as athlete of the year alongside Gio.

Wednesday

Busy split day with the morning focused on getting our 4 new podacarpus trees in the ground - designed to hide the neighbors house and our crappy fence - they already look amazing.

Afternoon spent in the city, a haircut, a snack at a cute cafe, a climb up to coit tower and down again via the Filbert and Greenwich steps, a drink along the bay and then a studio visit to Whipsaw with Harry.
