Shipping is fun and all but I swear every single time someone makes a comment, whether as a joke or in a legitimate analysis, about there being "no other explanation" for a pair's interactions, I lose just a bit more of my sanity

Like, no, you guys don't get it. Romance is not about the Amount of devotion, it's about the COLOR. the FLAVOR of it all. a character can be just as devoted to their platonic friend as they are to their romantic partner, and they don't love either of them more, just differently.

But because the majority of people still have it stuck in their minds that romance exists on the highest tier of love, I'm stuck seeing endless takes that boil down to "these two care about each other too much for it to NOT be romantic" as if that's the core determining factor to how literally any of this works

In conclusion: stop telling me that I don't understand the story if I don't interpret the leads as romantic, I am TIRED

somehow, amazingly, i have hacked the impulse that makes me mindlessly scroll on my phone. it's not gone but i've paired it with a conscious thought process that goes like, "what's my goal here? i'm looking for entertainment, for information, for something that makes me feel more optimistic and interested in the world i live in..."

and because that kicks in between apps, too, i'm not doomscrolling as much. i'm intentionally seeking out posts or videos or whatever that actually mean something to me. when i'm not satisfied i walk away or pick up a book instead. most subtle yet impactful change i've gone through in years

i did not intentionally set out to change this. i've just been working on my mindset in general. hey, turns out having a good therapist again helps

what are your recommendations for music made by women?

holy shit i literally never saw this

okay so i love Walls of Jericho and am on a worldwide mission to get everyone to listen to them. Rosegarden Funeral Party are also one of my favourite bands. Sleater-Kinney, PVRIS, and Team Dresch, the Regrettes, Le Butcherettes are like my comfort bands and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them. The Pretty Reckless also have some songs I really like. Blues Pills are also really, really good if you’re into bluesy rock. Shawn Colvin’s cover of Baker Street remains one of favourite songs in the world ever. The Miffs are criminally underrated, so are Big Joanie, Soomood and Suffrajett. If you prefer softer stuff, Imelda May has some good songs, and if you prefer harder stuff check out Vixen. She Returns From War, Against Me! and Mya Byrne are all transgender women in music who I love dearly. Also I keep recommending them but The War and the Treaty are dual female/male vocals and they fuck sooo hard.
