i love that i've stopped caring about only talking about and reading things that other people liked or deemed objectively good. i just started reading what i like again, without pressure of it having to be "peak literature" even if something is not everyone's favorite because it makes me happy and i want to do things that make me happy. if someone else doesn't like a book i like then that's their opinion. i'm still going to talk about it and like it and my opinion won't change because someone else disliked it. other people's opinions don't matter (unless it's like actually problematic obviously)

also i couldn't care less about book reviews that use personal bias and opinion to say that a book is bad (if you have actual constructive criticism that's different obviously). most of the time if you didn't like a book and there's no problematic or actually relevant reason why it's bad then it just wasn't made for you. you weren't the target audience. if you didn't like a book then you didn't like it, it's not the end of the world just go find something else that you do like and don't ruin it for the rest of us. you waste time tearing down authors when you could just go find a different book to read
