In the Social Media course, I have been taking this summer, one of the most interesting topics that was brought up in this week’s material is how Facebook is looking to inform users more about their rights as privileges as citizens, particularly voting. I haven’t checked into Facebook in so long, but I decided to peek back in for this course and the first thing I found on the top of my timeline was a notification letting me know that the primary elections are coming up soon. Wow, thanks Facebook! It slipped my mind since I have been so busy lately, but I plan on voting, as I’m sure many other American Facebook users felt as well when they saw this reminder. You can also contact your local and state representatives on Facebook now by literally hitting the “Contact” button next to their name. I hope something good comes of this. Now more than even I believe we need to get voting numbers up. #MCO435
