4 STEPS: HOW TO TRANSFER TRAINS IN CUBAO
“I’m in Cubao LRT-2. How do I get to the MRT?”
Coming from LRT-2: ARANETA CENTER-CUBAO STATION I suggest you take a screen capture of this article and have it with you as you walk.
1.) Enter Gateway Mall
Once you’re out of the LRT, you’ll be right outside Gateway Mall.
Go up the stairs and enter the glass doors between H&M and Uniqlo. Stay on your left (by H&M) because that’s where the escalator is.
Go one floor down using the escalator in front of H&M.
When you get down, you’ll be on the second floor of Gateway Mall, on the right side of the hallway.
Stay on your right and walk straight past Lacoste, until you see the doors with the sign ‘to MRT-3 / Farmers Plaza’. Those doors will be leading you to your next step: the connecting footbridge to Farmers Plaza.
TAKE NOTE that you’ll only be using the escalator once.
Better watch where you're going! You don't want to walk in circles! If you think you're lost, save time by asking directions from the guards.
2.) Exit Gateway Mall and enter the footbridge.
Here, all you have to do is follow the bridge. Don’t mind the stairs.
The footbridge connecting the two malls: Gateway Mall and Farmers Plaza; but since the LRT is directly connected to Gateway Mall and Farmers Plaza is connected to MRT, this is where the commuters pass to transfer trains.
Plus, it’s a mall so it’s not too hot compared to walking outside. This is the reason why there are always a lot of people in this area.
If you’re going to transfer trains using this route, you won’t get lost as long as you follow the path that where a lot of people is walking on.
3.) Exit the footbridge and enter Farmers Plaza.
The MRT is just behind Farmers Plaza. Once you’re inside Farmers, Jollibee will be on your left and Handyman Center will be on your right.
Walk straight, past the escalators until you have Watsons on your right and Moagao on your left.
Walk straight until you see the food stalls at the end of the hall.
Turn left and go down the escalator/stairs.
Exit the glass doors. By that time, you’ll be exiting Farmers Plaza & Araneta Center.
TAKE NOTE that you’re not going to use the escalators in the Farmers Plaza.
4.) Exit Farmers Plaza and enter the MRT. You’ll automatically be entering the MRT as you exit the Farmers Plaza.
Don’t get confused: - LRT-1 is different from LRT-2. The one in Cubao is LRT-2. - If you search for directions, Google Maps won’t show you this route (but here’s a visual). - When they say “bumaba ka sa LRT sa Araneta”, take note that:
a.) ‘Araneta’ is short for ‘Araneta Center’
b.) ‘Araneta Center’ is the same as ‘Cubao’
c.) The complete name for this station is “LRT-2 Araneta Center-Cubao” station
LRT-2 & MRT-3 Address:
LRT-2: Araneta Center - Cubao Station, General Aguinaldo Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City, 1109 Metro Manila
MRT-3 Araneta Center - Cubao Station, Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City, 1109 Metro Manila Source: Google Maps name
And this is how we do. Have fun commuting!
