Flashes of the Altai from Joey Schusler on Vimeo.
Three childhood friends set out for the far western corner of Mongolia to combine mountain biking and packrafting in a self-supported adventure into the unknown. Never having attempted a mountain bike to packraft link-up, they decided it was a great idea to travel to one of the most remote and sparsely populated places in the world to try it out.
The goal was to traverse the Mongolian Altai, a remote range of high glaciated peaks with silt-laden rivers draining from their heights. The only inhabitants of the region are Kazakh nomads, the last people on earth who continue the tradition of hunting with golden eagles. Ancient standing stones carved over the millennia stand guard over the landscape.
Twelve days in the wilderness, riding over high passes loaded with gear, surviving raging whitewater, drinking fermented mare’s milk, and battling the elements, this was not an adventure these young lads would soon forget.

A Coastal Reverie from Zangs Films on Vimeo.
Montaña de Oro State Park encompasses roughly 8,000 acres of fog shrouded coastal hills and coastal bluffs that abut the rocky shorelines of south Estero Bay on Central California’s coast. It’s undeveloped coastline and undulating, rhythmic singletrack offer a quick and easy dream-like getaway for various local and visiting trail user groups. It’s evident enough that the trails here didn’t build themselves, nor did the access to them come easily granted – especially for mountain bikers. The Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers have been instrumental on both fronts.
The Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers (CCCMB) is a group of volunteer trail enthusiasts from the Central Coast of California that formally organized in 1989 to help build and maintain multi-use trails in the region, as well as to protect and advocate for mountain bike trail access. Since their inception CCCMB has helped build over 40 miles of new trails and serves as the primary maintenance organization for an extended network of over 100 miles of trails. Together with California State Parks, CCCMB is designing and building a new two-mile trail at Montaña de Oro to enhance connectivity between existing trails, and to improve the user experience for mountain bikers and other trail users.

TEMPLE - A monochrome skateboarding quest from David & Douglas on Vimeo.
TEMPLE is a conceptual monochrome short film, following skateboarder Sammy Montano on a journey through the Balkans and its fallen monuments.
It was essential to transcribe them with respect according to our vision, to spiritualize the expression of their magnificent forms, timeless aesthetics and monumental dimensions. Confronting them with skateboarding allowed us to animate this notion of freedom and exploration.
Sammy Montano places himself as a central witness, being both the representation of this quest but also its outcome. It represents the doubt that animates each of us in the face of the unknown and this constantly renewed desire to take step in search of the answers to our deepest beliefs. This film is a personal art project, a pure reverence and tribute to these monuments, better known as « Spomeniks » and their legacy.

MISS AMERICA LYRICS
Did someone give you something to help you ease the pain? Like the liquor in the bottle, we watched you slip away. And I feel as if I know you through the bars of a song. Always surrounded but alone.
But no goodbyes, you'll always be Miss America. We watched you fly, but nothing's free Miss America. And as you fall apart, we just call it art. Was it so hard to breathe?
Was the picture in the paper not the face you recognise? Did the make up never make up for the pain behind your eyes? Cos I feel as if I know when you're on my silver screen But I don't know the dark places that you've been.
But no goodbyes, you'll always be Miss America. We watched you fly, but nothing's free Miss America. And as you fall apart, we just call it art. Was it so hard to breathe?
Does another voice sing in Heaven's choir tonight, To fill the silence left behind? And I don't know what goes on in your mind But I'm sure it's enough to make my cry. Someday we'll find you lived forever.

MiniCyclops - First Outdoors Test - (14x14 inches "sensor" size Motion Camera) from Gonzalo Ezcurra on Vimeo.
**Making of pics: flickr.com/photos/68280761@N03/
