this is a formal interest check for a charity raffle with the IF community

if you are an IF author or artist and you're interested in participating in a charity-drive raffle, please check out this form! we are aiming to do one big raffle with a single prize pool, where people submit proof of donation in exchange for a raffle ticket.

prizes we are currently considering would be things like a spicy snippet or a cosy snippet, etc. potential sketches from artists or a rendered bust, etc. and we'll allow the authors & artists to dictate how much/what exactly they're comfortable offering. donating to multiple gfm will mean more entries into the raffle. we'll be offering a list of potential gfm to donate to (we're going to try and focus on ones with low funds) & any artists/authors offering prizes can specify if they want to sponsor specific gfm.

this is subject to change! we are just trying to gauge interest right now and see what we can put together on our side of things which depends entirely on the people willing to contribute & if we get enough interest.

A historical low fantasy interactive fiction game set during the Viking Age.

You were born to a mother who went mad and a father who grew to hate you. A quiet night turned to chaos as your mother cried out and tried to kill you, possessed by something no one knows.

You father becomes Jarl many years later and sends you off to uncover the mysteries surrounding a settlements sudden quietness in England, but as you discover hidden secrets, you find yourself trapped between two options.

All the meanwhile, the voices get louder every moment you spend trying to figure it out, eating you alive.

in the west, a realm is controlled by death. a queen rules with an iron-fist, seeing no mercy as she curls her fingers and crushes a person’s once beating heart in a matter of seconds. every drop of blood spilt is the strengthening of magic, the first kill an awakening of an individual’s unique power.

in the east lies another, a realm overseen by life. killing has been outlawed here, the ruler strict but not unkind. for those who dare to break the rules, every kill adds an extra year of life onto the murderer’s lifespan, a cushion of temporary invulnerability to soften crimson hands.

though they lay side by side, the two kingdoms have not spoken to each other in nearly two centuries, for in-between the realms lies an abyss—a third realm, one that survives in the shadows. it is unknown what lives there, but it’s dangerous enough that most don’t dare cross the border.

you’re one of the few who do.

living a double life, you make a living smuggling items into opposite sides, selling and trading requested items to keep yourself afloat. when you’re caught by the queen, you’re expecting a death sentence. instead, she gives you an ultimatum: steal her a coveted item and she’ll let you live. fail, and you die.

it should be simple enough, but there’s only one problem: what the queen is looking for doesn’t exist.

Hello! Yes, the time has come: the Infamous demo is out! First I want to say that the response has been so unreal and the fact that people are so excited for this makes me both happy and nervous haha but I’m glad people have become invested in the characters that I love dearly!

The demo includes:

✮ PROLOGUE ✮

Audition for BOTB and attend the after-party hosted by Misfit Alley…and try not to get in trouble in the process.

Meet some new (and familiar faces) and spend the night three different ways.

Maybe have that long awaited conversation with your ex friend/partner that wants nothing to do with you :)

The prologue can be a bit NSFW-ish, if you so choose, so be wary of that!

⚠️ NOTE ⚠️ As there is quite a bit of variation and coding, it’s very hard for me as a one woman show to find every single error (trust me, I tried.) so for that I will be kindly outsourcing you guys as my makeshift alpha testers, if that’s alright (ha!).

If there are any errors, typos, or any passages that feel like they are out of context due to the game not reading the coding, please please let me know so I can fix it! Ideally I’d like the demo to be 100% polished before the next update!

I figured out what I wanted to do as a thanks for 1k followers!

As you guys know, there is a variety of bands that make an appearance in the game. Many, actually, which means there are many band members competing in BOTB. As a thank you for the support (very overwhelming, did not expect this) I will be choosing three people to make an NPC of a band member in one of the bands: The Painkillers.

If you are picked:

You will create a member from scratch. Name, appearance, gender identity, pronouns, clothes they wear, and their personality (with some restrictions for story purposes.)

They will be featured in the game and interact with MC (and the ROs) and be a recurring band.

Just remember: Once you give me this character, I can do what I want with them. They are no longer yours, they're ours. If they become a villain or a terrible person or if your MC ends up hating them, do not kill me! I have author privilege aha. With that said, I won't promise any certain amount of on-page screen time. They will definitely be featured (of course) but do not kill me again x2 if they're not in it as much as you like. This is just for fun, yk!

Infinite Blue - October 2022 Update

Happy October! Our update for spooky season is going to break down where we’re at with Tobias’s route, since it’s the one that has the most progress so far. We also recently announced our Patreon and Discord, so we have a small update for that as well!

Tobias’s Route

Writing

This is the big one! While I can’t say his script is in the very final draft, I can say that after going over it several times, I’m feeling pretty satisfied with the storyline and like all of the plot points have come together, enough so that it’s ready to be programmed in its current state. I’m sure I’ll be updating it in the future, but it’s a very nice feeling to have a route done-ish.

The wordcount for Tobias’s route comes in at ~55k words. In the meantime, I’ve moved on to Leo’s route. His is fairly close to being ready for programming as well, but there was a plot point I’ve flip-flopped on including, and in the end, I’ve decided to keep it. The last time I worked on his route I had taken this plot point out, so now I’ve been working to put it back in.

Art

All item art for Tobias's route has been complete, except for one thing I forgot to include, so I’ll be going back for that when I send out the briefs for Leo’s route. Tobias's route will have 8 total CGs, and we have the sketches in for 4 of them. Three of his backgrounds are done, and since we reached the extra background stretch goal, I'll be commissioning one more. I did run into an issue where there's a scene on his route that will require an extra background. This scene isn't important enough to utilize a CG to cover it, so to keep within budget, I have modified a free-for-use photograph. It matches the other backgrounds pretty well, so hopefully it won't be a glaring issue for players. One side character sprite for his route is finished, leaving one more to go.

What's next for his route?

Art assets will continue to be gathered, and once the initial programming is in, I'll be going over his route a few more times. When the final draft is reached, we'll be able to do voice acting.  In the meantime, it'll be a matter of putting in the final touches such as SFX, profile picture changes, and sprite expressions
