As the day seemed to turned dark, cloudy, and even a bit grey, Beau had figured he was going to need a cup of coffee or two while at the station all day. Despite being a vampire, the past time of fancy espresso was not lost upon him, even if he couldn’t even enjoy the taste or the rush anymore. And, just as he was leaving the shop, two coffees in hand to last all day, he bumped into the girl while remaining stable enough to keep things balanced and not lose a drop. “Yeah, you should probably watch where you’re going next time. You could have made me spill this.” He glanced down at his outfit, making sure none had gotten on him before lifting a brow at her. “It’s Beau. Do I look like a Brad to you?” He rolled his eyes at the insolence that was before him.
Under the protection of the awning outside the coffee shop, Frannie could at least hold some sort of conversation with the guy. Clearly, it wasn’t starting off as a decent one, to no fault but her own. “Yet you didn’t, so...” Her shoulders shrugged, the coffee spilling worse than if it would’ve started raining. She wouldn’t have wanted to ruin her outfit just as much as he seemed not to want to ruin his. “You’re lucky I even remembered meeting you, pretty boy. I doubt you remember mine, at least I made some sort of effort.”

Seeing the girl, she looked all too familiar, before she placed the face with the girl in the bathroom whom she proceeded to get wasted with after their bonding. It was a surprise to say the least, and she quickly found a smile after adding, “I just started here actually. I needed something…stable in my life—so…here I am. It’s nice to see you again!”
“Some stability is always nice.” She mused, taking a seat at the counter. “It’s nice to see you again too! I’m thankful for a familiar face. For a small town, it’s harder than I realized to run into people I met at the party.” Or maybe that was her fault and the way she felt after all of it went down. “Do you have any recommendations on what I should order? I haven’t had the chance of coming here yet.”

Her heels clicked on the sidewalk as she practically sprinted towards the store, rain threatening to ruin every ounce of effort she put into getting ready this morning. As she spotted a decent spot, Frannie got the timing wrong, accidentally bumping into someone. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” She started before getting a good look at him. “Wait, haven’t we met? It’s, uh... Brad?”

Her stomach growled on the way home from the daycare, spotting the diner and deciding to pick up something to take home. She hoped they had small portions, knowing there would be some regret at the end of this. Frannie went up to the counter, taking a seat and spotting a familiar face. “Hey, Juliette! I didn’t know you worked here.”

It didn’t take much of any spark to reignite the thirst underlying Bailee, as she couldn’t control herself around her, and the cuts only made that more prominent. Even at the girls fear, there was that primal instinct drawing her closer as her fangs protruded, even with all of the waitress’ blood from before. “You have no idea what you’ve gotten yourself into.” She remarked back, before leaping onto her friend and biting into her neck.
She sat up more, scooting farther back as the veins seemed to continuously become more prominent. Frannie had never seen anything like it before, an unsettling feeling growing in the pit of her stomach as each second passed. Her eyes widened as Bailee came out her, only able to let out a scream as teeth sank into her neck.

Bailee continued to look over her friend, taking a light breath as she told her she was okay. “Are you sure?” It was a question she didn’t need to ask as the smell of blood filled her senses. After clearing most of the debris off of her, her scratches were already beginning to heal as she scooted closer to Frannie. “I…I don’t think anybody’s coming. Everybody that would come is already here, and injured—” She paused and said, “But I can heal you…I saw it once…I think I can—” Her eyes grew darker, before she has to close them, trying to face her own bloodlust and keeping it in check, before veins darkened around her face, and she could feel her fangs inch forward.
The worst she felt were scratches, blood staining her dress. Nothing felt broken or sprained, although she hadn’t gotten up yet either. Her head nodded as she looked over at her friend, sitting up more to eventually get out of there. “Of course, why wouldn’t it be a terrible idea to thank the EMTs and everyone all at once.” An eyebrow raised in confusion, “Heal me? What are you talking about?” It wasn’t until her friends face started to change did she become scared, scooting back slightly as she wondered if she’d hit her head harder than previously thought. “Bailee, what’s wrong with your eyes?”

“Oh, to get to know me, huh? Rich.” He let out a slight shrug. “I’m not looking for any trouble, so sorry to disappoint.” He raised a brow as he glanced over her once more. “Oh gosh, my mistake. Because you decided to spend time with me, I should feel flattered and excited that you went out of your way.” He feigned a sort of silly voice before he finally shook his head. “Squirm? It sounds like you’re just making up your own excuses now because you’re not used to being turned down. If that’s what you’re looking for kid, then fine. I appreciate the offer, alright? Is that what you’ve been wanting?”
“I could’ve let you sit here by yourself all night, drinking alone. Except from what I’ve learned so far, you actually like doing that.” Frannie didn’t care about whatever comments he needed to make towards her, as long as if had nothing to do with her looks. “Are you done? Look, I’m not a kid, as much as you seem to care for calling me that. I’m not stupid and understand when someone isn’t interested. My mistake thinking you’d be any sort of fun, physical or otherwise. Now that I’ve clearly wasted enough time on you for the night, I hope you have fun being a loner.”

With the wood pieces pierced into her skin, she figured it would hurt, but nothing like this, mini-stakes apparently, as she sat up weakly while looking over Frannie. “Fuck.” She murmured, before finding herself plucking pieces of wood out of her arm. “I’m… I’ll be fine—” Even with the pieces she was slowly pulling out one by one, her wounds cleared up quickly, the impact leaving her mostly shocked from the suddenness. “What about you?” She finally lifted her glance to look over her friend. “Fuck—and you’re human. We have to get you…to…someone that can help—” He voice slowed down, the scent of her blood reeling her over and leaving her eyes to darken.
Frannie stopped her advance towards her friend, the scratches only growing worse every time she moved. There were more than she cared to admit, hoping none would leave any scars once they healed. Her head nodded slowly, feeling a bit dizzy as she did so. A dull pain built as her hand reached towards the back, a bump clearly forming there. “I’ll be okay. Bruised beyond belief,” she attempted to life, the headache sending a sharp pain through her. Bailee’s working seemed odd, leaving it for another time as she agreed. “Sh-shouldn’t someone be coming soon. I’m not sure how well walking is going to go.”

Bailee couldn’t agree more, which gave her all the more reason to just straight up leave. She figured there was forever now, she didn’t have to worry about it. “You’re so right. It is always there. Plus, it’s not like super high on my priority list anyways. This town is too much fun already. And I’ve found some really great people here too.” She gave he friend a short smile, going off on her own for a bit before coming back together. It was easy enough at least, the speech being something that felt all too obligatory after her entire Rowan encounter. “I can’t imagine it being any less painful than Mr. Shenold’s introductory speech on the first day of classes when we all thought we were going to get out early.” She sighed back, before the speech began. After a while however, the whole explosion wrecked havoc out on the entire crowd, sending Bailee out of her chair and onto the floor, pierced with what seemed like burning wood chips.
“Oh god, so it’s as bad as I’m expecting. At least with this one, we can leave whenever we want.” She chuckled, elbow resting on the back of her chair as she messed with her hair. The voices sounding monotone to her own ears, struggling to pay attention to what this was even about. As she went to make a comment about actually want to leave to find something better when she flew back from her chair. She tried taking a deep breath, only to have her lungs fill with dust and smoke, coughing fit happening instead. Her body hurt all over, cuts felt on her arms and legs. Frannie sat up slightly, finding her friend a few feet away and crawling towards her. “Bailee, are you okay?!”

“Well, isn’t that what you wanted when you first approached me—Oh, sorry, when you first tipsily ‘ran into me’.” He said, marking air quotes with his fingers around the words, before giving her a heart laugh back. “Great, some kid half my age is trying to flirt with me. Doesn’t make it any better now that you’ve admitted you wanted to try and fuck me too.” He shook his head, unable to blur the lines between anything. “Look kid, I’ve tried letting you down easy, but even that seems to be going over your head. I’m not a very sociable guy, at least not to the standards you seem to want.”
Her eyes rolled, “Okay, maybe it was, that doesn’t mean you need to lump all of us together into one group. I’m sure there’s plenty of woman out there who’d come over here for the sole reason to get to know you.” Frannie’s original plans for him may have been deterred, but watching his reactions every time something new came out of her mouth. “You should feel flattered. As you mentioned earlier, there’s plenty of other people I could be flirting with. Instead, I’m spending my time with you.” A grin came across her face, a laugh starting to build. “Oh, it’s not going over my head at all. I’m having a great time watching you squirm, trying to sleep with you has been off the table since you turned me down the first time.”

“Not gossip!” Bailee tried, though she knew her friend couldn’t resist any sort of deets on just about anything it seemed. “We just found… mutual interests.” A very specific interest and that included the art of vampire sex, but she didn’t have to tell Fran about that yet. “Yeah. Sort of. I just…found a new path to life I guess? School kind of weighed me down at the end.” She didn’t know if she would ever fully finish, and now that she had forever, it wasn’t a problem either. “I could get used to that. Don’t worry, I won’t let anything bad happen.”
Her eyes rolled with a light chuckle, only guessing as to what those mutual interests might actually be. “School’s not always for everyone, and isn’t the easiest at times. There’s so much pressure now with graduation and...” She made a retching sound. “If my dad found out I’d quit, he’d kill me. So here I am pushing the rest of the way through. Plus, it’s always there if you ever want to go back.” With the reassurance from her friend, Frannie enjoyed the night. There was no end to dancing, drinking, flirting and meeting new people that could stop her, until the room started setting up for the speech. The dancing was put on hold, finding her friend again to join her through the slower part of the evening. “Let’s hope this is quick and not as painful as I’m expecting it to be.”

“I believe in just about anything, and it’s not unlikely around here anyways. At least I’ll survive for a bit.” Nick offered back, shrugging at the words. “Yeah, you and just about every other female that’s approached me tonight. It’s always ‘Hey, you look tortured and lonely, can I annoy for your ten minutes until I fix your broken soul?’ I’ve heard it all.” Nick went back to his drink, wetting his throat with the liquid before giving a short shake of his head. “Yeah, I got that much after the first time I told you I wasn’t interested. Drinking with tons of overdressed people? You’re right, I could be having more fun drinking at home, but that’s just sad and pathetic.”
“Right, assume that’s what every single woman wants when they talk to you.” She didn’t deserve to be lumped in with everyone else, not by her standards at least. “Look I didn’t come over here to fix you, I can barely fix myself. I came to flirt with a hot guy, potentially fuck you. Seeing as the latter is something completely out of the question, I’m sticking to the former.” Frannie shrugged, “With how you’re acting around people, I’d say that’s how you spend most of your time drinking.”

“Perfection, right.” She said, the word repeating in her head as though it was some obtainable reality, something that she needed to strive for, despite not eve sure what her idea of the word meant. “I’m Juliette, and you’re going to have to text that pic to me. It was too cute.” She stated with an easier smile, before adding, “And…do you want to go get a shot with me or something. It’s the least I can do. You’ve kind of turned my whole night around.”
“Oh, of course! We’ll have to exchange numbers so I can send it. Plus if we have a way to get a hold of each other, we can hang out again.” Frannie never believed in having some sort of cap on her friends list, hoping the other felt the same. “You’re going to learn very quickly, I could never turn down any form of drinks. Typically goes rather well depending on the level of alcohol I’ve already consumed.”

“Cute. But trust me when I say that it’s never a bad thing to keep a stock of canned goods around. Might come in handy one day.” He shrugged, easily keeping up with her and having no problem in his retort as he offered her a half-shrug. “A real man? Seriously? I could be your dad and that doesn’t…bother you?” He paused as he finally fully turned to face her, giving her a once over glance, and letting a cheap chortle leave. “This is me having a good time. Drinks all night, a half pound of food soaking it all up, and a young girl trying to hit on me, even when I’ve politely turned her down. I’m afraid it doesn’t get any looser than that.”
“Are you one of those people who believes the apocalypse is going to happen? Preparing for the inevitable where you’ll wind up protecting a group of people who can’t do it themselves.” Frannie was actually enjoying the conversation they seemed to be having, turning her down or not. Her head shook, “No. My father does not frequent my thoughts when I’m trying to pick up guys. I see what I want and go after it, simple as that.” Her eyes ran over him again, suspecting their might be more potential he never quite tapped into since they’d never met before. “I’m not the best at cues, and my hopes are still there you’ll change your mind. You haven’t convinced me yet about how this is the most fun you can have.”

“His brother and I have…let’s say we have some catching up to do.” She stared, very suggestively, giving her a confident glance and smirk. “And you gotta do you. Sometimes you have to make yourself the priority. There’s nothing wrong with that!” Bailee was eager to have someone who cared about themselves as much as she did. “We are too good for that, and trust me, I can take care of anybody that gets in our way—” She paused, trying to find a good excuse for why. “I’ve been seriously into these Tae Bo lessons. You just say the word, and I will take anybody down.”
“Oh? I can’t wait to hear all the juicy gossip about that later.” She gave the other a smile, amused at whatever the two might have together, and why she was only hearing about it now. “Is that why you decided to leave too? School’s rough as it is, can’t blame you for wanting to get away for a little while.” Frannie was surprised, looking over at the other with an expression to match her current feelings. “Tae Bo? God, I hope I get to use you as my queen in shining armor at some point tonight.”

“Oh—I’m not really the spice it up kind of person.” He shook his head. “Every once in a while, sure. Like coming to this was me spicing it up I guess.” Emmett shrugged, trying to make sense of his own actions. “Parties, celebrations, open mic night at some of the lounges. Things are happening all the time. And, if that’s your sort of thing, it sounds like you might just do alright here.”
“This?” Frannie looked around, “Is spicing it up? I don’t know if I should be intrigued or concern you don’t get out more.” Especially with how Frannie had witnessed his brother acting, two drastically different people. “Well, I guess I can’t complain about that. You know what would make it better though? Having someone to enjoy them with.”

“Well, I will happily make sure you don’t over do it. Call me your voice of reason.” She joked with the other already. “You should get used to it, events like this happen way too often around here, and they’re always a ton of fun, until something bad goes down.” She shrugged back. “It’s definitely an assignment, though my boyfriend -slash- baby daddy looks way too hot in a suit for us not to have come. So, apart from watching everybody have fun, I get to see his cute ass all night too, which makes working a whole lot more bearable.”
“Thank you because I may need it. Even when I don’t want to admit it to myself.” She knew there were times where she’d get out of hand, the voices of her self-image issues dwindling with each drink. An eyebrow raised, “What kind of bad things?” Besides the party, the town seemed rather quiet, but the quiet ones were the ones to look out for. “Aren’t you lucky then. I’m hoping to snatch someone up before the end of the night....Everyone looks so good though. I don’t know how I’m going to decide.”
