President George Bush addresses the nation from the Oval Office after the September 11th terrorist attacks on the nation. Al Qaeda terrorists had hijacked 4 passenger jets and crashed two of them, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center, collapsing both skyscrapers. Another flight, American Airlines Flight 77, was crashed into the Pentagon while the fourth, United Airlines Flight 93, was prevented from reaching its planned target by the heroic actions of the passengers who fought the hijackers and saved countless lives. The devastating attacks on American soil killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others, and shocked the entire nation and world.

In his speech to the country on the night of the attacks, President Bush stated, 

The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge – huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong.

A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining. Today, our nation saw evil – the very worst of human nature – and we responded with the best of America. With the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.

Had two good holidays this year summer hasn't been that bad and was so hot for both , Cornwall with great mates had an amazing week swimming in the sea , Eden project , flambards and coastal walks living in a static caravan for a week playing very heated monopoly and risk games :) then mother and daughter holiday to porthcawl for a week bbq's on the beach and swimming in the sea catching crabs 😂 lol and fish and going to the fair :) got a busy year next year hoping to go abroad for my b day then there's Cornwall again next year but at St Ives this time then there's Brighton gay pride next year can't wait hope I don't get lost this time.
