Morten Hansen: Great At Work Audio Book Summary
From best-selling author Morten Hansen, author of the instant achievement classic Great by Choice, comes a powerful new book: Great at Work: How Top Performers Do Less, Work Better, and Achieve More.
In this book, Hansen asks a very simple but revolutionary question: why is it that some people are able to achieve more than others? What separates a top performer from an average or good performer? What is the difference between “good” and “great” work habits, and how do these habits impact our accomplishments and careers?
To answer this question, Hansen performed a comprehensive five year study of thousands of business managers and employees, focusing on the successful habits that are common to all great office environments.
The result is the establishment of seven key principles, which Hansen believes every business, and every professional, should implement. With examples and case studies that range from an exploration of the modern office to farmers in India, a sushi chef, and even movie examples, Hansen’s approach is truly comprehensive.
The book is divided across these seven core principles. For each, he identifies what the trait to aspire to is, detailing why it works, and provides examples from different disciplines. Each principle also includes self-assessment quizzes to help you determine how well you currently practice the concept, and then provides tips and suggestions for how you can get better at it.
This is a book that is not meant to be just read, but rather studied and engaged with over time. You’ll find that any one of these seven principles has the potential to radically shape your life, and if you diligently apply them you’ll find it won’t take long to see increased performance at work, which can have benefits that stretch across many different areas of your life, not only for your career and financial well-being, but also for your personal life as well.
This is a great book for anyone looking to achieve more at work, and will be especially helpful to business managers and executives looking for principles they can encourage amongst their teams in order to run a company that achieves more with less effort.

Michael Hyatt: Your Best Year Ever Audio Book Summary
In Your Best Year Ever: A 5-Step Plan for Achieving Your Most Important Goals, best-selling author Michael Hyatt makes a strong case for a simple process that can set you on the path to success.
In the hectic day-to-day of the modern world, many people get lost in the rush. They have big dreams and ambitions, but, somehow, find that those dreams never quite get off the ground, and they find themselves stuck in an endless, repetitive loop that never quite gets them what they want.
The solution? Take a few hours to sit down and plan out how to achieve your aims. That’s exactly what Hyatt explains how to do in this book. He argues that there are a few simple but often over-looked strategies and approaches you can take that will set you on the path towards achieving your aims, but that few of us ever take the time to fully execute on these strategies.
Some of them, we “know” if we were to think about it, but “knowing” what to do is different from actually doing it. Hyatt argues that is you take just a few hours to sit down and clarify your goals and outline how to get them, you’ll be miles ahead of the competition, and well on your way to success.
The book tackles key obstacles many people face, such as how to set goals that make it very difficult for you to quit, and how to get over those inevitable periods of time when you feel stuck. Instead, you can focus on a few easy to follow tricks and tips that help ensure success. For example, Hyatt offers three incredibly simple ways that will likely triple the individual’s ability to meet their goals and become successful, at whatever it is they choose to do.
Just by taking a few hours to sit down and follow these processes, you could radically change your life. This book is essential for anyone who wants to take control of their life and stop living in the same merry-go-round that must people suffer, running around with being productive and accomplishing their aims.
In short, Hyatt teaches you how to get yourself together, so you can get on with your life and meet the success you deserve.

Scott Gerber and Ryan Paugh – Supperconnector Audio Book Summary
In Superconnector: Stop Networking and Start Building Business Relationships That Matter, authors Scott Gerber and Ryan Paugh take the art of networking into the 21st century.
They argue that traditional networking — the concept of going to business meetings and reaching out to individuals solely for the sake of networking and generating leads — is dead. Yep, that’s right. They argue that networking, as most people are familiar with it, no longer works.
That’s because now more than ever, people can see through the facade that networking provides, and are unlikely to recommend business to someone they met once or twice at a meeting or followed once or twice on social media, just because they share a common networking group.
Instead, successful networkers are people who can consistently provide value to others. The development of longer term relationships that are built on a foundation of mutual trust and support are far more valuable in the long run than numerous shallow, superficial relationships that have a quick sale in mind.
To do this, the authors list a few core practices to adapt. Key among them is the idea of Habitual Generosity, which means that one is able to give far more than he receives. Always looking for ways to help others is, ultimately the best strategy that anyone can adapt, because it instills a feeling of genuine authenticity.
Developing this approach consistently, in the long run, will lead to an atmosphere in which you generate business often when you least expect it, and from sources you can barely explain. It’s a style of networking that understands that “good karma” is everything, and that as you pay it forward, it will eventually come back to help you as well.
In other words, reshape your networking to be less focused on building your business, as counterintuitive as that phrase may seem, and more focused on helping to build the businesses of others. Ultimately, that’s what will provide you with an immense amount of success, and how you’ll see the best return on investment from your networking efforts.
So stop networking, and become a superconnector. This book will be immensely valuable for anyone looking to stand out in the business world and looking for ways to develop meaningful business relationships that are sustainable in the long term.

Gary Vaynerchuk – Crushing It Audio Book Summary
From best-selling author and wildly successful social media entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk (also known as “Gary V”), comes another exciting book detailing how to success in the current social media climate.
Crushing It: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence — and How You Can Too, is a sequel to the wildly popular earlier work, Crush It, in which Vaynerchuk argued in favor of creating a personal brand to grow your business.
In this sequel, he takes things a step further, looking a time-tested principles of the digital age, and offering clear techniques that have been used by thousands of successful entrepreneurs. He walks you through the nitty gritty of how to use well-established social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, et al, as well as how to keep abreast of newly emerging platforms to stay on top of the trends.
Even though social media is a fast-changing world, the steps and processes outlined are sure to work in any business climate. They’re as much about how to position yourself as the details of how to post, and are intended for users who already have at least some familiarity with these platforms.
A decade ago, the question was whether or not social media would be a permanent platform for influencing customers and whether or not businesses should get on board. Today, the discussion centers around the price of those who aren’t on board with these tactics, and how to develop a sustainable voice that sticks out from the crowd and allows you to take your business to the next level.
Finding the right mix of business and personal content is essential. No one wants to follow a brand that just blasts the universe with their own self-promoting content. Instead, they want to connect with individuals and leaders. They want insights into your life, and mixed in with that they’ll show an interest in your business products and offerings. In other words: giving first is key, and if you can develop the right strategy centered around that philosophy, you’ll be in a position to skyrocket your way to success.
This book is a great read for any entrepreneur or aspiring web-preneur, or anyone who seeks to boost their influence via social media channels.

Shawn Achor – Big Potential Audio Book Summary
From internationally acclaimed author and Harvard-trained positive psychologist Shawn Achor comes a groundbreaking new work on the incredible power of human potential.
The author of the best-selling book The Happiness Advantage and success and motivational coach to students and corporations in over fifty countries, Shawn Achor is one of the leading thinkers on the connection between happiness and success.
In Big Potential: How Transforming the Pursuit of Success Raises Our Achievement, Happiness, and Well-Being, Achor takes his happiness research to the next level to tackle the issue of potential and impact-based action.
According to Achor, one of the worst trends of the internet-era is the tendency for us to isolate into individuals and strive for individual over group productivity. This is a bad idea, he argues, because it leads to what he terms Small Potential. Small Potential is what is possible when we work alone. Big Potential, by contrast, is what is possible when we group together and focus on aiding the needs of each other in order to achieve common or related aims.
True to the style of his earlier books, Achor demonstrates his theory using evidence from contemporary neuroscience and psychology, noting how the brain performs better, operating at a higher, more creative and more resilient level, when it is consistently exposed to others.
He then continues to lay out five principles, or SEEDS of what you can do to achieve your own highest potential. These strategies are not just about financial and business achievement, but are strategies for success that lead to more well-balanced lives all around, accounting for higher levels of happiness and meaning as well as financial and social success.
Big Potential is a great book for anyone interested in how to optimize brain performance and work on self-development, while keeping an eye on the practical techniques and strategies that can be employed. It is for anyone who wants to raise their own potential as an individual or a group, and live a life that is not only more successful, but more fulfilling, joyful, and meaningful as well.

Elaine Pofeldt: The Million Dollar One Person Business Audio Book Summary
In her groundbreaking work, The Million-Dollar, One-Person Business: Make Great Money, Work the Way You Like, Have the Life You Want, Elaine Pofeldt takes a close look at the rise of a relatively new phenomenon. The single owner, single employee business that generates a million dollars in revenue.
Until recently, this achievement was nearly impossible for a single individual to do, but with the rise of technological innovation and the ease of outsourcing, the last twenty years have established this niche of business owners as one of the fastest growing sets of the population.
The appeal, argues the long-time Forbes contributor, is not just about the money. it’s about having the freedom to live life as you please. It’s no secret that the internet has made self-employment a realistic dream for millions of people, but it’s also enable them to take that work with them anytime, anywhere, meaning that the rise of geo-arbitrage — living in one location and earning money in another — has become increasingly popular.
In The Million-Dollar, One-Person business, Pofeldt outlines exactly how this setup is possible, and shows a clear-cut path that anyone can adopt — to virtually any industry — in order to achieve success. You don’t need to earn millions of dollars a year to be a successful business-person and entrepreneur, nor do you need to have an office with hundreds of employees. All it takes is a laptop, a passion, and a drive to succeed. With these principles, you’ll be well on your way to making that elusive dream a reality, and developing a six figure income (and seven figure business) for yourself.
This book is a must-read for any aspiring entrepreneur, or anyone interested in building a web-based business. The techniques outlined can be applied to most industried and niches, meaning that anyone can leverage their current expertise into a successful home (or beach) based business.

Unabridged Audiobook Written By: Daymond John Narrated By: Daymond John, Sway Calloway Publisher: Audible Studios Duration: 9 Hours 01 Minutes
Book Rating:
Summary: The New York Times best-selling author of The Power of Broke and “Shark” on ABC’s hit show Shark Tank explores how grit, persistence, and good old-fashioned hard work are the backbone of every successful business and individual, and inspires listeners to Rise and Grind their way the top.

As a young man, he founded a modest line of clothing on a $40 budget by hand-sewing hats between his shifts at Red Lobster. Today, his brand FUBU has over $6 billion in sales.
Convenient though it might be to believe that you can shortcut your way to the top, says John, the truth is that if you want to get and stay ahead, you need to put in the work. You need to out-think, out-hustle, and out-perform everyone around you. You’ve got to rise and grind every day…Read more.

Daymond John – Rise and Grind Audio Book Summary
The founder of popular clothing brand FUBU and one of the original sharks on the infamous investing and startup show Shark Tank, Daymond John is a leading emblem of entrepreneurial success.
In his previous book, The Power of Broke, John outlined why he thinks coming from a background of poverty helped to instill within him the drive needed for his success. He follows up on that idea with his newest book, Rise and Grind: Outperform, Outwork, and Outhustle Your Way to a More Successful and Rewarding Life.
Rise and Grind outlines a clear and simple philosophy: when you make it a habit to get up and grind, every single day, you will be on the path to success. No matter how you look at it, John argues, there’s no substitute for pure, old-fashioned hard work. Despite the current trends of people looking to “make it quick” and find shortcuts for success, behind every successful businessman is a track record of intelligently driven, direct, hard work.
The key, John asserts, is to turn your work into a passionate habit. You need to get to the point where you wake up every day and don’t question whether or not you can do something, but question how you’re going to do it, and then push through with the necessary resilience in order to make that idea happen.
This is the secret of every successful entrepreneur, and is the number one determining factor behind what makes some people successful while others aren’t. John has seen that evidenced in his own life, those of his partners and associates, as well as the would-be entrepreneurs he sees on the Shark Tank.
This is an excellent book that tells it like it is. There are no shortcuts, there is only hustle. You can’t think your way around the need to grind. Instead, keen, intelligent thought is essential to combine with the grind, because your competitors are, and will always be doing the same thing. By combining these two traits, you’ll be nearly assured of success, regardless of the field in which you operate or the endeavor you seek. It isn’t just about fame or money, it’s about the satisfaction and fulfillment of getting up every day knowing that you’re on track to achieve your goals, whatever those goals may be.

Arianna Huffington: Thrive – The Third Metric for Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder Audio Book Summary
In Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder, Huffington Post founder and executive Arianna Huffington lays out her views on what it means to be successful.
As the founder and CEO of one of the world’s fastest-growing media companies, no one can doubt that Huffington has achieved immense success, yet she found herself questioning the nature of that success after she nearly collapsed from exhaustion and suffered numerous medical complications as a result.
As she searched for the medical diagnosis underlying her issue, Huffington was confronted with a greater reality — the idea the money and power, the most-often cited metrics of success, are, by themselves, insufficient. She used the now infamous analogy of money and power as two legs of a three-legged stool. The missing leg (and the missing metric, according to the book title) is well-being.
With money and power alone, individuals might achieve success, but they will never truly thrive. That’s what this book is about. It’s not just about balance, but about finding the reasons behind the long hours and grueling work it often takes to achieve the money and fame. It’s about finding personal assessments that match the reasons you go to work, so that you find that you are pursuing a passion, not just a job or career.
Individuals who focus to narrow-mindedly on the “traditional” definition of success as money and power, will inevitably be placed on a track leading to burn-out, which can have disastrous consequences, whether it comes as a nervous breakdown, a major personal failure, broken relationships, or a medical condition that crops up “out of nowhere” and needs to be addressed immediately, as was her case.
Finding well-being through your pursuits is absolutely essential for success, and Thrive is an excellent combination of business savvy mixed with personal experience to express this sentiment. Thrive provides a much needed philosophy from one of the leaders of our times. This book should be a must-read for anyone who works to achieve work-life balance, or who aspires in the professional world. Sage advice must a seasoned leader and entrepreneur, these words of wisdom are pieces of advice that no reader should take lightly.

Summary: From Stephen R. Covey – the late, legendary author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – a new set of rules for achieving a happy and fulfilling life of primary greatness.
Many of us are hurting. We have chronic problems, dissatisfactions, and disappointments. Although we generally make it through the day, a lot of us feel overwhelmed by burdens we carry. We try to “lift the load of life” each day, and sometimes it’s just too much. The idea of living a “great life” seems a distant dream.
Too often, however, we have the wrong idea of what a great life is. We think if only we had enough money, enough free time, enough good looks or popularity, everything would be great. If that’s what makes for a great life, no wonder so many of us feel so weighed down by the demands of everyday living…Read more.

Stephen Covey – Primary Greatness: The 12 Levers of Success Audio Book Summary
Stephen Covey is perhaps most famous for his groundbreaking work, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, a book that is taught in high school and universities across the world, and is also a go-to read for any management professional.
In his newest book, Primary Greatness, Covey takes a new look at some of the same principles, extending the ideas presented in The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People to focus on how truly great individuals — individuals who are not just effective, but who master their domains to create truly a lasting impact in their fields — operate, and the qualities that they share.
Covey distills these characteristics down to twelve key principles. The twelve principles are: integrity, contribution, priority, sacrifice, service, responsibility, loyalty, reciprocity, diversity, learning, teaching, and renewal.
Every great leader, in any discipline, shares these qualities and, what is more, knows how to balance them to achieve a life of mastery. However, if you do not yet have all of these traits, whether you’re missing one or all twelve, you shouldn’t worry, because there a definite, practical steps you can take to develop these traits within yourself.
Through habit, you can re-train your work and life habits in order to incorporate these attitude and characteristics. None of them is particularly elusive, but they all take disciplined intention in order to master. Using the tips and suggestions outlined in Primary Greatness, you can start working with these principles immediately, and lead yourself to new levels of success and greatness in your own life…however you choose to define the term.
Already a bestseller, Primary Greatness is destined to become another classic work in the field of personal development and success. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills to take your life to the next level — in any way — this is a great book to read.

Dyer has researched intention as a force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. This audiobook explores intention, not as something you do, but as an energy you’re a part of. We’re all intended here through the invisible power of intention. This is the first audiobook to look at intention as a field of energy that you can access to begin co-creating your life with the power of intention…Read more.

Wayne Dyer: The Power of Intention Audio Book Summary
in The Power of Intention, author and spiritual leader Wayne Dyer takes a powerful new approach that challenges us to rethink how we approach energy and intention in our lives. The overarching premise of this book — and an idea often promoted by Dyer — is that when you change the way you look at the world, the world you look at changes.
On the surface, this sounds like a nice quote, and is a great reminder that we have the ability to change our own individual perspectives about the experiences that happen to us. However, Dyer does not intent this to be a simply surface-level, feel-good statement about thinking positive thoughts. Instead, In The Power of Intention, he outlines how this statement is, quite literally true. It isn’t just about your perspective of things that have happened, but physical shapes the way in which you experience the world, and the things that happen to you.
By setting clear intentions with every action you take you take control of the situation and enable the development of everything you desire, regardless of whether you’re at the office, stuck in traffic, or playing with your kids. The optimal outcome always has to do with the energy that you hold about that situation. When you hold negative energy, you prevent yourself from receiving the true abundance and beauty that you naturally deserve. When, instead, you open yourself to more positive forces and relax into the positive intention of the moment, you lay the foundation for the creation of a life experience that is remarkably joy, radiantly beautiful, and incredibly abundant, in every way imaginable.
This concept underpins much of the contemporary New Thought movement, and Dyer does an excellent job of describing why this principle is true, along with outlining key principles that you can adopt and apply to your everyday life in order to see the results manifest for yourself. It is the combination of spirituality and practicality that makes The Power of Intention one of the most powerful books of Dyer’s career.
This book is a must read for anyone interested in secular spirituality, the law of attraction, or simply someone who is looking to live with a higher degree of integrity, honesty, openness, and intention in their lives. A powerful and inspiring read, it’s a not to miss!

Wayne Dyer: Real Magic Audio Book Summary
Wayne Dyer is one of the most popular authors of success and spiritual books of the last generation. Once hailed as one of the top 10 most spiritual people in the world, his books have been read worldwide and continue to influence millions of people despite the passing of the author a few years ago.
Real Magic: Making Miracles in All Areas of Your Life is a book written by Dyer in the early 1990s, and addresses the concept of creating unexplainable, spiritual magic through synchronicity in one’s day to day life. By his definition, magic is not something for the occult, and doesn’t necessarily refer to anything that defies the physical laws of the universe, but rather refers to the act of achieving something that you previously believed was highly improbable or impossible.
Dyer outlines a few core principles we can follow in order to achieve these types of occurrences in our lives. The first and perhaps most important, is to recognize that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience, not the other way around. By viewing your human body as an extension of your broader spiritual self (which you can call God, a Higher Self, a Soul, or anything else you’d like) you begin to open yourself to magic occurring in your life. Receptivity to this idea is perhaps the single most important key, and one of the most difficult for many people to accept.
Once you are receptive to the idea of synchronocity (the occurrence of “magic” or “miracles” that seem improbable and hard to explain) you open yourself to the idea of those things happening. This is key, because belief is the number one ingredient for allowance. When you believe that something is possible, you lay the foundation for that thing to happen in your life.
Also important is the ability to relax and fall into a state of harmonious flow with life. When you do this, you allow God or the universe to work through you. Dyer comments that both with his writing and his speaking, he feels he has the most powerful impact when he is able to relax his conscious, critical mind, and simply move with the flow of an intangible energy. This idea of desiring and intending without forcing is a key point to remember.
Regardless of what type of miracle you want to create for yourself in your life, whether that has to do with financial abundance, health, healing hurt relationships, or any other area of your life, the principles outlined in Real Magic are sure to help. At the very least, you’ll gain a new, unique perspective that will challenge you to re-think the approach you currently take towards your life, and hopefully will allo you to enter into higher states of ease, fulfillment, and joy.

Abraham Hicks: Ask And It Is Given Audio Book Summary
Abraham Hicks is one of the most influential teachers of The Law of Attraction. Over the last several decades, Esther Hicks and her husband Jerry have become almost synonymous with the concept, thanks to their teachings. Abraham is a spirit guide channeled through Esther Hicks, and though the book was written by Esther, Abraham Hicks is listed as the author, since she was a conduit for this higher-message.
Ask And It Is Given is broken into two parts. In the first half of the book, the author establishes much of “what has been forgotten,” reminding the reader that, at his core, he is a spiritual being with creative power. Every individual thought and emotion has creative power behind it, and there is absolutely no concept of lack or limitation, other than that to which the individual subscribes. To the extent that one believes he is powerful, he will find that he is powerful, while he will find lack to the degree to which he continues to believe in lack. Throughout this first half, the author lays out a number of different principles, which collectively provide an overview of how the individual can remember that this creative force is really his true nature.
In the second half, the author lists a number of different processes, exercises, and techniques that anyone can use in order to tap into this true, natural power. The core of the power is emotion, since the user must acknowledge that the way he feels is indicative of his current point of attraction. As such, the exercises are all designed to help the individual consciously and deliberately begin to feel better. Regardless of the subject at hand, addressing the issues he faces on an emotional level first is always the first step to create a better, more abundant experience. That is as true for the world of finances as it is for health or relationships.
Get joyful first, and everything else will fall into place for you. This is the primary message Abraham Hicks seeks to convey throughout the book. In fact, the reader is reminded of it in just about every chapter. If one places his focus upon maintaining joy and trusting in the infinite power of the universe, rather than fretting about what he believes is or is not possible for him, he will enter into a state of alignment and inspired action that will lead to one beautiful, joyous, abundant discovery after the next.

Ernest Holmes: The Science of Mind Audio Book Summary
Ernest Holmes is perhaps one of the most influential 20th century thinkers few people have heard of. Holmes was a theologian during the early 1900s, but left the pulpit in order to develop his own philosophy of mind. This philosophy went on to inspire much of the contemporary New Thought movement, since it deals with the concept of the Law of Attraction and the universal principles that govern the universe.
The Science of Mind presents Holmes’ complete theory. It is perhaps the earliest, most comprehensive book to address the science behind the Law of Attraction. Released in the 1930s, around the same time as Napoleon Hill’s infamous Think and Grow Rich, the book takes a logical approach, attempting to prove the universal law and provide a treatise on how one can adapt this law and apply it to his own life.
The basic principle of attraction, Holmes states, is to understand two principles. The first is one of universality — that everything is connected in one infinite field — and the second is that thought has creative power. By applying your disciplined thought to a subject, you can influence the outcome. This process will work every time, because it is the fundamental law of creation and, Holmes asserts, if it has ever worked, it always works.
Thus, every individual has the creative power of the universe at his disposal. It only appears otherwise, because individuals may only use this power to the extent that they believe it will result. Thus if one thinks a thought without believing that the manifestation will be forthcoming, he achieves nothing, and will only re-emphasize his current position. If, however, he thinks a thought knowing in advance that his prayer will be granted — indeed, that it is already granted before he can even ask for it — then he will see it granted. This is the power of healing. It is the power that Jesus, Buddha, and all of the other great prophets held throughout the ages. Holmes’ work is the first attempt to bring this power to the forefront of the modern individual through logical analysis and scientific proof.
The Science of Mind has been extremely influential. Some claim that every contemporary success or motivational teacher, coach, or author, bases his work at least in part on Holmes’ philosophy. Indeed, many of the great leaders of the success industry, from Jim Rohn to Wayne Dyer to Tony Robbins, have acknowledged the influence that Holmes had on their own work and development. That makes this book a must read for anyone interested in the study of personal achievement and success, and anyone interested in the integration of spiritual and scientific principles into a coherent theory.

The Winner’s Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use To Achieve Success Audio Book Summary
In The Winner’s Brain: 8 Strategies Great Minds Use To Achieve Success Harvard neuroscientist and neuropsychologists Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske lay out eight guiding principles for success, based on decades of brain research.
The duo combed through thousands of studies to produce this work, coupled with their own individual experience studying the brain, and attempt to distill the findings into principles that anyone can udnerstand and apply, regardless of the discipline in which you seek success, your past experience, education, or any other determining factor.
The strategies are: 1. Self-awareness: thinking about yourself to become a winner. 2. Motivation: cultivating the drive to win. 3. Focus: locking in to what’s important. 4.Emotional balance: making emotions work in your favor. 5.Memory: remembering to have a winner’s brain. 6. Resilience: bouncing back into success. 7: Adaptability: reshaping your brain to achieve. 8. Brain care: maintaining protecting and enhancing your winner’s brain.
In discussing these strategies, the authors take a hard look at the neuroscience behind each, isolating the regions of the brain that are impacted by these habits and demonstrating, through both research and case studies, how training the brain to perform optimally can enhance the performance and lead to success. It is this combination of hard-science and practical studies and examples that makes the book so powerful. They look at cases ranging from athletics to personal recovery to business. For example, they examine why Kerri Strug, the olympic gymnast, was able to push through an injury to win the gold medal, and why the central park runner — a famous rape incident in New York — was able to recover from the brutal attack and transform her experience into an inspiring story of success and resilience.
Adapting any one of these strategies could prove useful, and help you to resolve your current obstacles and propel yourself forward to success, but combining all of them creates a recipe that virtually guarantees success at anything you choose to pursue. The best news of all is that, rather than feel trapped in a “loser’s” brain, you can take positive actions that will re-train your brain for success. Thanks to neuroplasticity, the brain is malleable, and with time and practice you can literally re-wire your brain to uphold any of the characteristics discussed.
Combining science with practical strategies leads to clear, well-presented solutions for individuals looking to up their game and achieve a higher state of performance in any discipline. The Winner’s Brain is an excellent listen for accomplishing these aims.

Unabridged Audiobook Written By: Ray Dalio Narrated By: Ray Dalio, Jeremy Bobb Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio Duration: 16 Hours 04 Minutes
Book Rating:
Summary: Ray Dalio, one of the world’s most successful investors and entrepreneurs, shares the unconventional principles that he’s developed, refined, and used over the past 40 years to create unique results in both life and business – and which any person or organization can adopt to help achieve their goals.
In 1975, Ray Dalio founded an investment firm, Bridgewater Associates, out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Forty years later, Bridgewater has made more money for its clients than any other hedge fund in history and has grown into the fifth most important private company in the United States, according to Fortune magazine. Dalio himself has been named to Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world. Along the way, Dalio discovered a set of unique principles that have led to Bridgewater’s exceptionally effective culture, which he describes as “an idea meritocracy that strives to achieve meaningful work and meaningful relationships through radical transparency”. It is these principles, and not anything special about Dalio – who grew up an ordinary kid in a middle-class Long Island neighborhood – that he believes are the reason behind his success…Read more.

Ray Dalio – Principles: Life and Work Audio Book Summary
Ray Dalio is one of the most well-respected investors and fund managers of our time. The founder of Bridgewater and Associates, one of the largest hedge funds ever to exist, Dalio is considered a genius investor by some.
In Principles: Life and Work, Ray Dalio sets out the reasons behind why he believes he’s been so successful. He writes that everyone lives by a code of principles, but few people take the time to actively assess what those principles are, and how they can be improved. By contrast, Dalio has long been a proponent of specifically writing out the principles he seeks to embody in his life, and has made it his life mission to constantly reassess and evaluate those principles, iterating them to a point at which he can rely consistently upon.
This philosophy underpins much of the success of Bridgewater, but extends well beyond developing a set of trading rules — something that every firm does. Instead, Dalio seeks to lay out the principles that govern how he thinks about life and work. A second book will then outline the principles he uses for economic and investment decisions.
These principles were first released on his company’s website back in 2010, and with over three million downloads of the pdf outline provided, Dalio decided his best option was to clearly address each of those bullet points, discussing why he holds to it and how it was formed through life experience.
Core to each of the ideas discussed are a few common trends. First and foremost, Dalio expounds the benefits of radical honesty, which involves both self-honesty and awareness as well as openness and integrity when dealing with others. He believes that organizations work best when everyone is upfront about their own individual weaknesses, and can incorporate those weaknesses into strengths for the team. Making mistakes, in his view, is never a problem, so long as the reasons underlying the mistake are then addressed, to create a stronger unit. Whether this applies to an individual’s work habits or how a team is structured within the organization, it has valuable results.
Another common trend is that the systemization of decision making processes is an essential ingredient for success. Dalio has spent much of his life create systems around the way that he thinks. Initially, these systems were simple guidelines he used, but with the advent of advanced computing, transformed into algorithms. In his view, algorithms can be used to double check and guide human reasoning. He likes to reason personally and then compare his conclusions with those reached by the computer. When they differ, he seeks to understand why, which empowers him to make the best decision to move forward.
Principles: Life and Work is a great book that is written not just for the business manager or investor, but for everyone who seeks a concrete approach that can aid him in self-improvement.
