the "irreversible damage" book cover is still perhaps the most succinct demonstration of how the laserfocus the detranxiety movement has on muh poor little girls is fundamentally an outgrowth of the general terror about declining (white) birth rates and white woman fertility as a dwindling resource. like, what's actually wrong with the kitschy smiling little girl in that picture? she looks pretty content for someone "mutilated." is she missing her head, brain, heart, limbs or what? anything that would obstruct her in living out her 8 decades on this earth? hell no, it's much worse than that. it's something that actually matters. she's missing her ability to produce White Babies. you're telling me we've spent decades working to overturn roe or at least make it as difficult as possible and now that we succeeded they've found a way to weasel out of being a reproductive resource anyway? that just won't do.

can i ask how u make ur traditional art have that glow/fuzz ? love how it looks— makes me also feel glowy/fuzzy and it's brilliant

ahh its mostly a mix of the ink being a bit worn out (when its like that its easier to manage ink flow and line weight) and me playing a bit with effects digitally

for these latest ones i just copypaste the pic and put it on a multiply layer, then add gaussian blur till it looks nice and usually turn up the brightness a bit

my kid is absolutely obsessed with this minor character from ONE episode of gabby's dollhouse about a "mermaid christmas cruise." this character is named hsiu hsiu and she is mercat's little sister. she is onscreen for maybe 5 minutes total? and my 3 year old talks about her EVERY DAY. i don't really have any punchline or deeper significance to this. just logging this fact in case she needs to decipher the way her brain works one day. "well you were obsessed with this sort of hipster-y tiny mermaid cat with a rainbow tail. her name was hsiu hsiu and santa cat let her open the first christmas present of the year. you loved her so much you said you wanted to live inside the tv so you could be with her all the time."
