So, the murder from 2010 in central London. It's confusing to me as to how this case went cold. I mean, sure it's difficult to figure out who it could have been, but they figured out that it was a close friend or relative and then never interviewed any of them???? Rather suspicious.
It's also rather confusing as to why the murder would use two weapons, one to kill (axe), and one to make the body difficult to identify (switchblade). The marks from the switchblade were also reportedly made after the death of the victim, so the intention of mutilation is clear.
The scene of the crime is also a curious point of interest. The victim lived in Bromley, yet the crime scene was on Baker Street, which is in Westminster. It makes sense the body was found in an apartment that hadn't been lived in for decades (abandoned for 98 years since the last tenant died), but there were people living in the downstairs flat. Which definitely means that the man was murdered elsewhere, but where? They didn't find any place where he could have originally died in the surrounding area, and there was no footage from any security cameras of someone carrying around a dead body.
This case irritates me, not just because they couldn't find the culprit, but also because they couldn't find anything else. The murder weapons, the original location of death. The victim didn't even have anything on him, they had to use dental records because of how difficult it was to figure out who he was by facial features.
This is why me and my friends will be trying to figure out what happened, four years on. Will update at some point.
