What do you think is the biggest problem facing Saudi women?
A Guardian’s consent ..
to study .
to travel .
to start a business .
to work .
to breathe……….. :\
I believe that guardianship is overrated . Women these days are more educated than most men .. I don’t think the guardianship serves any purpose but to hold women back ..
not to mention that it aids in controlling and abusing women and puts her in a situation that can lead to people taking advantage of her ..

First Saudi woman filmmaker overcomes segregation, restrictions
As the first woman filmmaker in Saudi Arabia, Haifaa Al Mansour was forced to direct most of her upcoming movie from a monitor inside a trailer, and correspond with actors using a walkie-talkie. It was “very frustrating,” she recently told Afternoon MoJoe.
“I was confined in this little space. But it’s very important not to stop because of obstacles,” she said. “It is very important to believe in the power of: We can change things. We can do things if we really try hard and work hard.”

Manal al-Sharif is a Saudi Arabian, women’s rights activist who started the #Women2Drive campaign in 2011. She was filmed driving a car in defiance of the ban on women drivers in #SaudiArabia. After the video was posted on YouTube and Facebook, she was arrested and imprisoned for 9 days. This incident did not impede al-Sharif’s commitment to women’s rights sending a message across the world that she would not be silenced. #ManalalSharif #WHM15HER #WomensHistoryMonth #womensrights

Why shall I wait for someone else? Why shall I be looking to the government, to the army, that they would help us? Why don’t I raise my voice? Why don’t we speak up for our rights? - Malala Yousafzai | Pandamonium made this with Spoken.ly

In a country where women are denied the right to vote, are not allowed to drive, and are basically treated like children, Saudi Arabia has taken its next giant leap backwards by rolling out an SMS electronic tracking system that alerts male “guardians” by text message whenever women under their protection leave the country. The development has been met with outrage by reformers, who have turned to Twitter to voice their concern.

The Princess of Saudi Arabia makes a public video supporting a woman’s right to drive. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that does not allow women to drive. This is completely unacceptable and her wise words will hopefully lead to change
