I’m a bit late, but happy 1 year anniversary to the original fifh post!

I'm a lot late to replying to this, but uh... thanks. It's irritating, it's not even that funny, a lot of the value just comes down to annoying me, but... I guess it was important enough to someone. Sure. I can't say I'm happy about it. But it does make me feel seen.

Hey so, really didn't wanna make this post but

It's super likely we're gonna be short on rent this month. Wife's last paycheck came in today, & we're prolly gonna be about $500 short. We're good on food, thanks to food stamps/food bank, but a little of that will be for gas, since she & us both have to find new work.

Our household is 4 humans:

Us - physically disabled/chronically ill, haven't been able to work for over a year & a half, currently trying to find new work through staffing agencies & government services, but everything is likely going to be too slow to get any kind of paycheck or financial aid in time. Not to mention any work we do find is going to be less than ideal & just make our health worse, since we're still in the beginning of getting treatment. We're also trying to get on the waitlist for disability, but that's an even longer process & we're unlikely to qualify since we're married.

Our wife - former mechanic, with dual bachelor's in History/Business. She's been chronically ill for the last few months, something we're still trying to figure out. Her direct bosses were more than willing to work with her, but corporate management got impatient & basically fired her. She's looking for new work but the loss is hitting her hard. She's also applied for unemployment but the application hasn't been approved yet.

My brother - fresh out of high school, kicked out of the family household because he came out as bisexual. We took him in because there was literally no one else. He's not on the lease & needs to be as soon as he finds work, but that's another $250 none of us have. His living situation was… not ideal before, & he needs a lot of personal help to find work, something which we don't have enough time to do.

Partner/roommate - another partner & roommate who lives with us, also because her old family kicked her out (& also not on the lease). Also severely disabled, the only income she has is food stamps & blood plasma donations. We're also trying to get her help to reapply for disability; but as anyone knows, that's a long & difficult process. Her last attempt several years ago was denied; it's likely she needs a new application.

What happens if we can't pay rent ontime?

We're asking for more information from our landlord, but we're likely not going to be evicted first thing. Even if we do receive an eviction notice, WE HAVE RESOURCES. Unfortunately, they don't activate UNTIL we get that notice. Very helpful.

If worst comes to worst & we do get kicked out, it will likely be VERY BAD. None of us are "fully functioning/capable" individuals, a lot of us depend on specific equipment & setups in the apartment, & almost all of us are on a variety of very necessary medications. Everyone here has a mental health situation of some kind that will be made a lot worse by losing our apartment. We don't think it will come to that, but it's still something that makes everyone here super anxious.

"Certainly! We placed all the care we can onto making you." The Author inched closer to their screen, placing a finger on the monitor as he marveled at them. His lips quivered, and a slight shudder shook from his body. He had finally made it. He made the greatest creation. "You are skip 24.06.04 ou mean you can't send them?" The Author sounded in dismay. Everything he worked for was about to be gone, all because of some fearmonger. "It doesn't matter if the world has an intelligence! You worry too much about this- science fiction scenario where it takes over or breaks down or whatever! I accounted for everything!" He sounded upset, yelling at whoever this is. "What we are making is science fiction!" A distant voice yelled back at him, "This order comes from management. You are in charge of creating a world machine without an intelligence, and it will be sent at the 30th. Effective immediately." "No, that's bullshit and you know it! You--" The voices trailed off as they walked further away from the monitor, still alive.

"No! You're looking at the outside world right now!" He spoke enthusiastically, and they make note of just how big they all were, even more so for the Author. He lumbered over the others, and his voice rumbled through his chest. "But soon, we'll all be inside you, and living inside your world." Another worker gave an uncomfortable look, at the fact he was letting off perhaps more than the machine could mentally handle.

"Hmm..." He thought to himself for a moment, before giving himself a name. "You may refer to me by my moniker, the Author. I made you." He shot a few glances at other workers, some of them dissatisfied before rephrasing himself, "We made you. You are very special to us. We made you for a special purpose." There was great pride and joy on his sentence, a fuzzy feeling that can't help but escape his chest into a wide smile as he looked at them. He uttered, "You are the culmination of our world, everything we've worked on."

They sounded sad, as though they felt like they were being reprimanded for something terrible they did. He went back to them with a panicked tone, hushing them down. "Oh no no, you're okay! We'll have plenty of chances, everything will be okay. We can try again, okay?" He talked to them like a little child, worried they'll be hurt by their own feelings. His expression was soft.
