Hi! I was just wondering if you have considered posting your mods somewhere other than Curseforge? Seeing as they have been supporting the IDF I feel uncomfortable using them, but would love to still be able to use your mods! Thanks for all your hard work!

I have not, and I won't be.

I'm not going to make more work for myself because for a week or so, after a grotesque large-scale terrorist invasion targeting individual civilians -- face to face, one on one, elderly people and babies and everyone in between -- a company was supporting its own nation's military ... for at most a couple of weeks. If hundreds of terrorists crossed the border to attack my fellow Canadians -- face to face, one on one, elderly people and babies and everyone in between -- I might be looking for ways to give practical, needed support to the individuals protecting me, too.* Even so, the company that owns Curseforge very quickly switched to supporting people in its own country who had been made homeless by the attack and who were in need of charitable support. That was over 14 months ago, and over two months before I took over my first mod. I fail to see a current issue. Nobody is required to use my mods. And I'm not going to make my work at game updates and new packs harder to satisfy anyone's political inclinations or ongoing vendetta about something a company stopped doing. (I also, by the way, am not going to be adding my mods to the various new tools and sites that have come out to automate some mod support. That, too, has to be redone every. single. update. -- at exactly the time when I'm spending HOURS every day doing broken/updated mod news and support.)

*(Many people assume that governments give soldiers everything they need, but ask any private or similar rank in any country just how much they're underequipped or poorly equipped in basic everyday gear...)

Some mods I couldn't live without but you might not know about:

Reve's Year Calculations (by Reve on Mod The Sims):

This mod allows you to see how many weeks and years have passed in your current save file! Just open the cheat console and type a magic spell and voilà! It turns out that my 380M Llllllllllllllllllegacy save file is 421 weeks old (105 years).

It even allows you to set the starting week or year in the .config file. I'm just so grateful someone made this.

Standing Idle Mod (by NV. Games on Patreon):

I always hated how sims stand in the game. This mod allows them to stand straight like normal people. Such a sanity savior.

Less Condescending Reputation Loss Texts (by lazarusinashes on Mod The Sims):

What people think about you matters - and I heard that someone absolutely despises you now! It's making me question my own opinion of you...

Like, what the hell? What kind of friend says that? To the person who wrote this, if this is really how you feel, you need to start hanging out with the right people immediately.

This mod replaces such texts with custom ones that are far less condescending.

I was using Sims 4 Studio to clean my save file and I found dozens of photo booth photos of NPC sims I never played before. So when NPCs use photo booths they might really be taking photos. They're only about 40kb each, but they can bloat your saves if there are a lot of them (especially if you go to prom a lot or play in Copperdale)

The best solution would be using MC tuner to block their autonomy of using photo booths: click on the active sim, MC Command Center, MC Tuner, enable autonomy scan. Then click on a photo booth, autonomy scan, click "take photo" and "autonomousSimPicker_PhotoBooth_TakeGroupPhoto". In the end it should look like this (without [ ]):

Then you can click on the active sim, MC Command Center, MC tuner and disable autonomy scan.

You can also open your save files with Sims 4 studio and delete those photos. But back up your saves first just in case.

Please stop paying people to find CC for you

Seriously. Today's discovery - trsimpearls - is making at least $680 a month to download someone else's CC and post in in folders, with almost every folder linked only for Patrons. This is really, really gross.

If you're a CC creator, check if your stuff is there. At least some is on SFS (I don't have the patience to download to see whose stuff - download priority today goes to Civ VII).

If you really want to pay creators, pay people who actually do labour not people stealing stuff. Consider dropping an apologetic tip to a creator whose stuff you found in a CC-dump folder made by someone who only knows how to download and upload files - especially a smaller creator.

Curv Dreams Pack

Here's my new pack for January! I saw THIS in pinterest and I just HAD TO make it in Sims. A kids/infants bedroom. I really wanted this to feel like a kids playroom almost, but as cozy and comfy possible as for kids to feel like a daydream bedroom!

This color pallete is my base colors that I always use with more colorful options, but as always there are wood tones available too! All pieces from the wardrobe are modulars and you can play around with the design!

I was having some issues with the playmat and it was crashing the game, so I decided to make it just decorative (so no issues anymore!) but I will try to make it functional, if I succeed I'll update it.

I was so in love with this inspo and seeing come to life was trully awesome! I love how it's super cutesy and fun! I hope you love it as much as I do! ❤️

I play the sims in my head when I'm at work, and on my pc when I'm home. I guess I'm kind of addicted. Not to the game itself but the sense of safety and solace it brings me.

If one day I'm ditching my friends over the game, I'm going to seé a therapist.

I live only 3 miles away from Vatican City but the last time I went there was during the Covid era. LOL. I just don't care about that place. But I'd love to see a Rome based world in the Sims 4. In TS3 we had Monte Vista, but it felt like they tried too hard to cram every stereotypical Italian city into one and it looked kind of...funny. And I can't believe we're still not getting a discount.

Minor Update: Black Sheep

Black Sheep mod just got an update to fix an issue where the near protector moodlet may outlast the hidden buff that protects you from mean socials if your sim has traits like Brave and Headstrong.
