The reason Uptown Girl hits so well is cuz Billy Joel is completely flipping the script around calling women golddiggers. Hes saying "i know this is what you want and youre accustomed too, and im gonna do my best to give it to you, ps youre so hot please be my gf please please please" with none of the usual women-expect-too-much type of bitching. That oddly romantic attitude combined with the insanely catchy chorus means this song is eternally a banger, imo
