Was just having lunch with sort-of-co-worker and it turns out neither of us could think of anything to say (I felt I had to sit at their table because it was... there). So when I couldn't take the silence anymore I said that Käärijä's new song is stuck in my head since I just heard it on Spotify's new music playlist (blatant lie, it's stuck in my head because I've been listening to it on repeat).

And he goes, "would you believe me if I said I've never heard that Cha Cha Cha song of his?"

We figured he's probably the last person in Finland who hasn't. He seemed pretty proud about that fact. He usually doesn't like anything that's too popular. His band plays progressive black metal.

I think I need to eat at a different time from now on.

The balancing between the sorrowful themes (drowning in bubbles alone, not being able to reach any friends but also being reluctant to return to an empty home) and the campier elements is so fun to me. I can see why it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I really like the themes this song tackles and the fun it also brings along.

Definitely gonna draw more stuff tomorrow!

BoJere Fallout AU

Bojan was born and raised in a Vault, living a happy life with his friends and family in their small community. But when his friend Martin goes missing, discord is sewn among the vault amid revelations that their Overseer has been siphoning members for organ trade to Surface Dwellers. This naive but hopeful Vault Dweller is part of the uprising in a cry for justice, and while he resists the use of violence as a means of change, he’s been disillusioned to the cult-like life he’s living. He escapes to the surface in a desperate bid to find his friend, but is deeply unprepared for what he finds.

Jere aka Käärijä is part of a resilient Raider gang called the K-Crew. They’re known for their hyper-violent methods of dealing with minor inconveniences, and have seemingly no alliances except to themselves, but is there meaning to their madness?

Their paths cross when Bojan stumbles into a rowdy bar asking for directions after wandering the surface, and he locks eyes with the leader of the K-Crew, Käärijä. Seeing an easy target, Käärijä makes his way over, but their goals quickly become entwined when Käärijä realizes Bojan’s got a lead on something bigger than he seems aware of.

Downplaying his own personal involvement with Bojan’s quest, Käärijä—Jere—offers to set off with Bojan and make their way through the Wasteland. Bojan, eager and naive, sees a new potential friend offering help from the kindness of his own heart. Jere, shooting someone point blank who tries to intervene in their conversation, sees an opportunity to seek revenge.
