So now that i know that Heartstopper is actually a spinoff of a book about Charlie’s sister tori who ive discovered in the book at least is ACE the piss poor aro/ace representation in the heartstopper show makes me even more angry. The one forgettable book guy that they treat shitty for being ace in the show really bugged me (tldr to have a good ending to a character arc in the show you need to couple up with somebody and kiss, wich of course a lot of aro ace people dont want to do. All of the cast are always pussing book guy (issac?) to be in a relationship and there never really called out on that. the show spreads this message that the only way to be truly happy is if your in a romantic relationship. Also the only ace person is that stereotype of a nerdy shy quiet guy.). So now im finding out we could have had a whole show about an ace woman?! This sucks. I hope they make a show about her she deserves it and theres about a grand total of 0 shows that focus specifically on ace people out there. now im gonna go read that book.

So last month I got hit by a car and died right. Which I didn't initially realize until I watched some guy haul my body into his pickup and drive off. Which, being that it's deep in rural Michigan, I assume means my body will make some venison jerky and maybe some wall decoration, and I'll be resigned to being one of hundreds of deer ghosts floating around Saginaw, which is w/e. But then I find out the guy works at a taxidermy shop or something, and he's actually pretty good at stuffing and mounting deer carcasses, which I come to find out when I find myself face to face with my old body in the shop window. So naturally, I figure since ghosts need to possess something to interact with the living world and etc etc etc the most logical thing to do is to possess my own body, since it's basically a statue of myself. And a little surprisingly, it actually fits like a glove. Like, since it's my body, it feels like stepping right back into place. So I get out of town and back to my herd, eventually. And that's where the trouble starts coming into it, because after I get settled again, I don't know how to explain to everyone else what feels so weird. Like since I can move my body and do everything I used to do, it's functionally the same, like nothing happened. Or it SHOULD be, so I don't know how to explain how it's NOT. But it's just hard to explain it to someone who's never been hit by a truck I guess

Do you know anything about why the DW reshoot scenes happened and the plot changes? I know people talk about something around Millie leaving as companion but then she’s in the second season a lot which is just odd if there was something funny happening. This show always has behind the scenes drama but I feel it’s never messed with a season (or our perception of a season) as much as has happened with 15

They reduced millie gibson's role from lead to recurring character, I don't think people know why outside of vague gossip. I'm pretty sure writers and actors and such were contracted for a single season that was split into two (this is... not uncommon, it usually has to do with not giving people seasonal raises though I can't say that's the case here), so her presence in this recent season is more a matter of fulfilling an existing contract for one 16 episode season and isn't something they can just not renew. Plot changes were to accommodate her no longer being the lead while still being a major character.

The bulk of the later reshoots were for gatwa's exit/the last 30 minutes of the finale, he bowed out sometime after shooting because they weren't being given a thumbs up or down from disney and he couldn't stick around in perpetual limbo. must have been a very late addition as apparently there's a whole different ending for the season shot and edited, though we only have this one screencap from it:

the last reshoot (like.. a month ago? whew) was to add billie piper into the last scene, apparently she's doing the production a solid, ie she's willing and able to wait on standby indefinitely for a project no one knows the scope of

I would realy realy like them to take a chance on a new young showrunner, every show runner has been an old white guy who is safe and proven. The dr who revival was sucessfull back then becuase they took chances, they dont do that any more. If there bringing diveristy into the actor cast then they need to with the writers and not just stand alone ep writers i mean the show runner.

I can excuse a lot when it comes to Doctor Who. But jesus christ, what was that?!? You have the incredible Ncuti Gatwa right there, and you just waste it???? I'm genuinely just so incredibly sad over this. I absolutely ADORE Ncuti Gatwa in this role, but my god, this writing is just...so bad. He didn't even get to face a dalek, cybermen, or the master!!! What is this!! All the incredible stories you could've written, but instead, you do this. You have your first black and very openly queer doctor right there, and you do nothing with it. The stories we could've gotten!!! The potential!!! I'm so SAD.

This show really needs to step away from Disney and start completely fresh. RTD needs to step down and give room for someone else. Someone with new, fun ideas that don't involve any kind of nostalgia bait. We need another fresh face as the Doctor, new writers, and a whole new team in general. I didn't mind the whole bigeneration and loved the specials with David Tennant, but having Ncuti Gatwa sandwiched between both David Tennant and now Billie Piper just feels incredibly rude to me. He's completely overshadowed when he's literally such an incredible Doctor.

I know that most of this mess is likely due to issues behind the scenes. The ratings were incredibly low, and disney didn't want to renew, so Ncuti Gatwa didn't want to be stuck in a limbo and potentially say no to bigger opportunities simply because he had to be the Doctor. And I totally understand him, I would've done the same. But all this could've been avoided if they simply just wrote better episodes from the beginning. They promised these seasons would be a fresh start, something easy to get into as a new fan, and that simply just wasn't the case at all. RTD is way too stuck in the past and way too focused on all these grand, big reveals that no one actually cared about, and that didn't even get resolved in the end. All we wanted were some fun, silly adventures with the Doctor and his companions. We didn't need the Disney budget and all these big villains. All we need is some fun characters with great chemistry. Throw some Daleks and some more silly aliens in there, and we're good. Why give us Sutekh, the Rani, and Omega in there all at once when you don't even have a solid script to justify it?? Just go with the classics and actually make it easier for new viewers like you promised! It's just all incredibly sad to me. So much wasted potential. I was so hopeful when Ncuti Gatwa was announced, and I'm so disappointed that this is how his run ends. He deserved so much more. I hope he knows how beloved he is in this role and I do hope we see him again in some way once this mess is resolved.

I don't think I have to explain the horrors of conversion therapy to you, so let me explain how this initiative works.

For it to get taken seriously by the EU, we need two things:

7 countries need to reach the minimum threshold of signatures for their country. We're currently at 6 out of 7! Slovenia only needs 300 more signatures to become country number 7!

We need a total of 1 million signatures. This might look daunting, but there days ago we were still at 200.000. Yesterday we were at 450.00. We are at 535.000 right now. So we have a long way to go, but we are moving fast!

The deadline is in a few days, on May 17.

Anybody with a European citizenship can add their name to the pile! If we reach the right amount, the official citizen initiative will be put before the EU Commission.

With lgbtq+ rights getting rolled back across the world, including Europe, there is no time to lose to demand stronger protections.
