Something the "more obsessed with doing nothing wrong than doing something good" style of online leftist type needs to contend with is that sometimes a person will have very valuable contributions to their area of study & also the person in question is some ancient cunt you don't agree with about politics & it's like, on a case by case basis sometimes this should be acknowledged and sometimes even recontextualizes their work, and sometimes it's fully unrelated & kinda weird to bring up cause it just sounds like you're trying to dispute germ theory or something.
