guys i actually get so irrationally mad when i help a wavy/curly girl out with a hair routine (i love hair) and i do the same for a straight hair girly and then the one with straight hair does the "pineapple" (a loose bun at the top of your head you wear to sleep, so you don't sleep on your curls/waves) and yells at me about having a bump in their hair as if i didn't say not to do it if you have straight (especially thick) hair

"Not beating the ___ allegations" is such a 'now' turn of phrase, implying as it does a world where everyone's behavior is always on literal trial by a guilt-presuming judge and jury that consists of anyone who happens to be paying attention.

there is a huge difference between criticizing an institution and criticizing individual behavior. i can criticize the makeup industry without criticizing the 14 year old girl who uses concealer because she’s self-conscious about her acne; i can criticize the plastic surgery industry without vilifying the woman who decided to get a nose job after two decades of pointed comments and bullying. it is intellectually dishonest to respond to an institutional criticism as if it were a personal attack; on the flip side, it is cruel and unnecessary to leverage personal attacks in the name of institutional criticism

if i see one (1) more person respond to a perfectly reasonable beauty-industry-critical sentiment with “but i personally enjoy eyeshadow. why are you attacking people who like eyeshadow :(” or “exactly, all women who wear makeup are miserable and brainwashed” i am going to climb a tree and bite the top of it

Aromantic people can write about romance. They can sing, joke, read, watch, know, enjoy romance. It makes them no less aromantic.

Aplatonic people can write, sing, joke, read, watch, know, enjoy platonic relationships. It makes them no less aplatonic.

Agender people can present as a certain gender, use "gendered" pronouns, not make effort to look androgynous/agender, use the name they were given at birth, enjoy typically gendered experiences. Agender people can refer to themselves by gendered terms. It does not make them any less agender.
