seriously for reals i have a whole hc for a scene that doesn't happen in 91w where the men bicker about missing girls and ✨ having to make do ✨ and it ends with more than a few of them calling dibs on winchester cause he'd probably show you a good time and people remarking on his gentle touch and all that plus dean thinks the topic is hilarious and is definitely capable of playing along without raising any suspicion whatsoever. except for the fact that masters is listening in. masters who has read dean's outgoing post, who's keeping tabs on everyone in the company. who drily comments that you are all out of luck with winchester because none of you are novak. and everyone thinks it's funny everyone laughs it off but dean's subtle tension still serves as confirmation and. well then i always kinda thought that masters, and whoever else accidentally found out about dean and cas, carried that secret alone and did whatever they could to divert attention when needed because they didn't want to see neither cas nor dean gone. (and maybe fifteen years later they smile to themselves when they hear or figure out that novak and winchester? they're still a unit. they live in the same house now.) yeah
