I'm having fun finding PacRim fics from a decade ago... anything that really expands on these two's drift connection with each other- and the hive. (I don't ship it. But. Their canon relationship is hilarious)

All the dialogue came from this fic! Phantom Limbs by bluestar on AO3 I was inspired by their incredible writing. The banter these boys have is so entertaining :)

While everyone else is doing something fun (i assume) on this Friday night, I was writing Pacific Rim fan fiction. Honestly, I think I'm the one making better use of their time.

In this chapter: A trip home, some light boat theft, and several introductions.

Newt had sat down after the first two hours, leaning against the kaiju’s broken tusk. He hadn’t spoken once since Gottlieb had tried to draw him away though his mouth was constantly moving, talking silently to himself. The shapes had a pattern Gottlieb could read off his lips; safe, quiet, pain, cold. Over and over like a mantra, Newt mouthed the words to himself, translating Scunner’s thoughts.

Hey everyone! Ever read my novel-length Pacific Rim fanfic and thought, ‘boy, this would be neat to have as a real book!’

WELL FRIENDS, THAT TIME HAS ARRIVED.

This has been an on-again, off-again editing project for several years; it took a lot of free time for rewrites, editing (with the great help from Priellan, who is a saint among saints) and getting artwork for interior illustrations from Feriowind (another sainted person). And now, I proudly and with great happiness offer it up to you!

The book clocks in at 430 pages and features 5 interior illustrations, plus the original cover by Feriowind. (Yes. You read that right. 430 pages.)

This is possibly one of the kindest, warmest things someone’s ever said about the series and I may have teared up a little reading it. <3

So in light of the fact that it is apparently Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day I just want to take a second to say…

*shuffles notes, clears throat, leans in close to the microphone*

From Out the Ocean Risen is, in my opinion, one of, if not the best Pacific Rim fanfic series in the fandom, and is in fact the reason I fell into the fandom as hard as I did. @zetarays is a tremendous author and if you somehow haven’t read this series yet, you absolutely have to. It’s so good. It’s got everything you need: Lovecraft references, banter, Tendo Choi getting screen time, crazy mindscapes, kaiju, mind controlled Newt, so many kaiju. It’s the best. 

If you have read it but it’s been a while, re-read it. It’s as good as you remember, I promise. I’m probably due for a re-read myself, actually.

Still working to keep my update schedule with Hosanna at least semi-regular, which means cutting chapter length from Huge Monster Chunks Of Text to something more reasonable. I think this approach will work better!

Hosanna chapter 15! In which Newt makes several decisions, most of them bad.

This is a big update and it’s chock-full of stuff I’ve wanted to write for a long, long time. I’m pretty proud of how it came out - hope you like it too. :V
