Rose sipped her coffee watching the other giving him a soft smile “Freshly made, I hope I still remember how strong you like it” she mused moving to set her cup down before hoping up on the counter to sit. “Because from our first reunion it sounded as if you burned all the stuff that would have reminded you of me and this shirt is kinda a big reminder.” she replied, smirking “I’m glad you didn’t, this is my favorite shirt of yours to wear.”

       "It's good." It was great, but that was beside the point. She remembered exactly how he liked his coffee. His eyes followed her as she moved onto the counter. Taking another sip from his mug, he shrugged. "I like that shirt. It's a good shirt." The truth of it was that he couldn't bear to part with the shirt because of the good memories it held. Jason didn't have a lot of those.

“I love you too Red Hood.” she replied back, her arms wrapping around him. Jason had a tough life, they all did but he rarely let people through the walls he put up. She counted herself lucky that he did with her. “Everything okay?” He just seemed off and she couldn’t put her finger on it.

       “Yeah,” he whispered to her. It was a lie though. Jason was anything but okay after his breakup with Jax. He was barely getting by, trying to hold himself together with duct tape and a prayer but he felt like he was going to break from the pressure if nothing changed. “I’ll be okay. How are you?” Jay asked, loosening his grip on her to look her in the eyes.

Since his dive into the past JJ had had little chance to see all his family. He’d actually made the choice to stay far away from them before his identity had been found out. Now, with the truth being out in the open, it was easier to see the family members he’d been hiding from before. “… hi?” He didn’t know just how much his parents had told his uncles (and aunt) about him but he hoped his Uncle Jason at least knew the bare minimum. He was one of the- ah, tougher, family members after all. “So you know what’s funny,” Anxiety bubbled in his stomach, abruptly wondering if this had been a bad idea and beginning to ramble in his anxiousness. “When I was little I totally believed mom and dad had named me after you. I didn’t get that JJ was an acronym and so I thought they named me after you, ya know ‘Jay’. Turns out I was named after my grandpas, James and John but I uh, I like the idea of being named after you too. Cause JJ even though it’s a nickname it’s my name, ya know? So I’ve always felt like I was named after you too even after learning the truth.” God his throat felt dry from all that rambling.

       “Hi,” he greeted his nephew. The young man that sat in front of him was the third of three kids that were essentially strangers from the future that he had grown to care about. Jason had always had a soft spot for kids, but these were special. They were, whether he cared to admit it out loud or not, his family. That made them important to him. He swore to himself that he would be there for them in all the ways that no one had ever been there for him. That was the simplest answer, for the reason that he had agreed to meet JJ for coffee. Listening to his nephew, his index finger traced the lip of his mug. A smirk ghosted across his face. “You don’t wanna be named after me, kid.”

Zee: I'm just trying to make everyone happy here. I didn't think you'd mind. I can tell him to wait?

Jason: I'm not.

Jason: I'll just hangout with Rose.

Jason: Just go hangout with him.

Jason: We can stop if it's too much for you.

Jason: Okay.

Jason: You should talk to her then or I can if you want. I don't know why she would feel weird around you. You're not a floozy.
