— Hinata shoyo has the most dramatic look on his face when he turns around and watches you fall, and instead of helping you up (like most people would) he immediately throws himself down onto the ice next to you, and he smiles like that’ll somehow fix the fact that not only you were wiped out, so was he. and when you laughed and called him an idiot, his whole face lights up, that’s a plus in his book.

— Kageyama tobio stares. Literally stands there and stares at you when he witnesses your fall, the second hand embarrassment was hurting him even though he wasn’t even the one who fell. but he still ends up beside you, stiff and awkward, offering a halfhearted “…Are you okay?” But when you go to stand up, his hand moves and grabs your elbow so fast it’s almost sweet. “I didn’t want you to fall again, that’s all dumbass.”

— Tsukishima kei smirks before he even checks to see if you’re even okay. Leans over and goes “wow, that’s embarrassing for you.” He’s the absolute worst, but the way he’s already holding his hand out like he was anticipating you to fall? Like he was waiting for this exact moment? Yeah. He’s mean but… weirdly prepared. You’re skeptical. You call him out and he just shrugs, he doesn’t let go of your hand for the rest of the rink though.

— Yamaguchi tadashi gasped so loudly, “Oh my god, are you okay?!” He skates over in a rush and nearly eats it himself in the process. When he reaches you, he’s frantic but gentle in making sure you’re completely alright, nervously laughing while apologizing like he was the one who pushed you. You’re still on the ground and he’s kneeling beside you asking if you want hot cocoa and a ride home. He’s the sweetest boy and would absolutely fight the ice for hurting you.

— Yachi Hitoka wasn’t expecting to see you fall like that, but when you did? Oh boy. She doesn’t skate to you, she RUNS. skates be damned. “You were so cool until that happened!” And once she realized what she said, she retracted her previous statement quickly. “No I mean are! You’re still cool! Even when falling!” You both end up laughing so hard she almost forgets to help you up…. Almost. She definitely slips a hand into yours and holds on a little longer than she needs to.

— Nishinoya Yuu laughs. Like so hard to the point he’s in tears. But like… he’s already helping you up mid laugh after making sure you were actually okay, he thinks you’re hilarious and adorable and tough all at once, and he immediately suggests doing fall stunts together so no one can tell which were real. You forgot the part where you needed to be embarrassed because you too busy laughing at nishinoya.

— Tanaka Ryunosuke straight up yells, “I got you!” before skating across the rink in a attempt to catch you before you actually fell. He skates over towards you with way, WAY too much speed and kind of crashes into you instead, you both fall flat on your asses. There was silence for a moment before you both bursted out laughing at eachother, tanaka was just glad he was able to make you laugh even like this.

— Ennoshita chikara skates over to you and offers you a hand, and asks, “Are you alright?” like he’s genuinely concerned… but then adds, “If you’re just gonna keep falling like this, maybe use the skate aids?” He was talking about the one for little kids. He has that dry humor that’s comforting in a crisis. He helps you stand, keeps his hand on your arm longer than necessary, and makes sure you’re okay before skating ahead.

— Kinoshita hisahi wants to laugh, he really does, but he forces himself to bite it back so hard. He helps you up effortlessly while trying not to make eye contact because your fall was a little funny but also you’re kind of cute and he doesn’t know where to put his hands. He spends the next ten minutes silently skating next to you making sure you were fine.

— Narita kazuhito is such a gentle man. He’s a little slower to get to you, mostly because he’s trying really hard not to fall himself, but when he does make it over to where you are? he’s gentle and steady. Holds your arm and guides you back upright and gives a shy little smile and says, “You’re doing great though!”

— Daichi sawamura reaches you immediately when you fall, he pulls you up and starts inspecting to make sure you didn’t have any really bad injuries. “Are you sure you didn’t twist anything? What about your wrist? Ankle?” You nod, and he sighs slowly before rubbing the back of his neck. “Good. But next time… let me skate next to you. Just in case.”

— Sugawara koushi laughs just a little bit, but he’s already at your side crouched beside you with a kind but mischievous smile. “Are you falling for me already?” he teases. You threaten to shove him. And he smiles and he offers his hand anyway and you took it. then he holds your waist a little too carefully when he helps you stand and doesn’t let go.

— Asahi Azumane panics. Like he physically winces when you fall, rushes over in a flurry because he’s clearly very worried, and keeps saying, “I’m so sorry! wait, no! I mean… are you okay? I didn’t mean to–“ He acts like he personally threw you to the ground? Helps you up with trembling hands and you joke about it and he still looks worried. But once you’re steady, really steady, he just gives a relieved sigh.

— Kiyoko Shimizu doesn’t panic, she glides over slowly, and crouches next to you, “you aren’t hurt right?” Once you nod, one of her hands helps you up, and the other brushes snow off your jacket, She doesn’t say much else but she also doesn’t have to, she stayed right next to you after your fall like she was monitoring you, making sure you were being careful.

Note: this is seri’s very first entry in their “haikyuu characters react” series. This was supposed to be shorter and seri ended up writing way more than they had originally intended, seri hopes you enjoyed it and look forward to their future works.
