one thing I think is missing from Death Note is flashbacks to Light's childhood.

it feels wrong to not have a canon moment where Soichiro thinks back to Light's childhood and like, reminisces aloud to the Task Force, while adult!Light's eyes go red as he fantasizes about killing everyone in the room.
