•Stressed I’m at school, so much of life is happening, work isn’t getting done, things feel so scattered, so I walked to the APEX, into a racquetball room, and I heard this song again after too long and decided to freestyle. It almost feels like it’s been too long that I been exploring just movement in general. I need to take more time out of the day, even if 5mins, to just do what I love. I know this is terrible, I can work on many things, and do a lot but progress is the biggest thing. •Speechless There aren’t enough words, moves, faces, tears to express the gratitude I feel for this love and support. From the people who taught me and saw me grow into the young man I am today. I been away from everything, doing my best to take care of my personal life, needed this time to focus on the important things in my life. But also in that time, I felt myself feeling behind, comparing my steps in life with others, belittling my talent and ability. I feel so foolish and I’m blessed with this reminder to keep pursuing, keep training, doing my best. So thank you DE Family, thank you Maryland Family, my brothers, my new family here in NYC. •Confidence 📸: @brandonmunoz . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I haven’t really kept up with my media posting lately. I just been focused on working on myself and my craft this summer. I do have to share these photos from the amazing brotha @brandonmunoz man. SHEESH! I am not confident, nor am I secure in what my “look” is. This photo shoot though helped me get away from all the noise and just enjoy the camera. Being natural and finding the camera to be my friend. Yes I’m hella late. But I’m just sitting here, it’s Wednesday, and I miss my OB fam already. This season has been crazy with college, dance, and my personal life but thank you @wheeitspauli @asilkosep @candidcoral for trusting me in the process of this set. Work(Progress) . . . . . . . . . . . First Dance Video of 2018 🙌🏼 so this piece I did for choreo-projects day experimenting my favorite quality of movement and playing with timing, reaching, fluidity, and other textures I have yet to venture. I’m super inspired this year to provide new and progressive material to show everyone. This is my way of connecting all my outside classes and lessons. I want to be more physical and incorporate many things to my choreography and quality of movement. I see the huge discussion that @ian_eastwood had started on twitter, seeing the escalation of it, and all the responses. I first want to say Ian is truly an artist and role model for this generation who I am inspired by and look up to. As an aspiring artist, I want to learn, I want to be in a community where we can feed each other, and communicate without fear. Unfortunately, we live in a culture of appearances and competition. Instead of our genuine love and hard work for the form, we get so focused on follows, likes, retweets, and all the other bullshit to boost our media. What are your intentions? Why chase after momentary satisfaction? Why was it that you took the class? Class is a place for people should be allowed to fuck up and understand it is okay because we are learning NOT PERFORMING FOR A LIVE AUDIENCE! We need to get back into being focused on why we take Class and why we take footage. Not create a harmful environment where we feel excluded and overlooked. Class is meant for learning and exploring, let’s remember this. What a dope class and super different from what I’m use to jaja any time I have the chance to take a class I have to go for it. Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for this new family of cuttin ass, supportive group lifting one another through this new season.
