#galarian yamask#bonus under the cut just so that you can tell that this is in fact galarian yamask#because from the “front” it looks exactly the same as regular yamask. if you can't see its eyes#or the rock it's carrying#for yamask regular i gave it an extra angle with that rock because it was a mask with unovan yamask#but. this is just a rock. it has no face. so it doesn't need an extra angle just to prove that this is the galarian one

well! grimmsnarl has more fans than i expected it to. i vaguely remember seeing a post one time about the problems with grimmsnarl's design but it's not coming to me. and i can't seem to find it online. that's somewhat what i was referencing—though it seems most of you quite enjoy grimmsnarl's design. i'll refrain from commenting on that, to be quite honest

#NEVER MIND I GOT THEM TO WORK#i spent multiple hours just tinkering with this model trying to get it to work just because of how long it had tormented me before this#and like. i dunno i was just bored and looking for something to do with my hands. and i tinkered with this for a while and got it working#this level of work would be unsustainable for every galarian form that doesn't have a normal functioning model#so. y'know. don't expect this for all of them. but i'll try to remember the process i used for this one so maybe i can apply it to them#so ignore the tags on the next post about me not being able to get this one to work#galarian farfetch'd#every pokémon is someone's favorite. i gotta keep that in mind

I like how you give some general thoughts about each Pokémon in your tags, that’s probably my favorite part of your blog tbh. So I was really looking forward to your thoughts about my all time favorite boy Impidimp and you didn’t even talk about him in your tags :( So what do you think of him?
ahh yeah. around that time my tags had been getting a little bit more… "lazy," shall we say, given the struggle i was going through just to get models working in the first place. they've gotten better now and more interesting—i've heard this exact sentiment quite a lot of times (and i do appreciate it! makes me want to talk more, and we all know i love talking—i tried the streaming thing once, didn't really work) but sometimes a pokémon is just not one that i think about or recognize often, so i have a harder time generating interesting thoughts to say about it. impidimp is one of those—it's a little screebo evil creature thing, but i typically think more about its evolutions. morgrem because i like its design more, and grimmsnarl because i despise its design (sorry grimmsnarl likers) and it's a competitive menace, if i remember correctly. it has a unique typing, which is cool—i think if i was making a pokémon like that, i'd have a hard time coming up with a good type for it, but that's as good of one as ever. and i try to stray away from saying i don't like pokémon nowadays because every pokémon is somebody's favorite. although i do still have my own opinions, obviously. my favorite pokémon changes a lot—right now it's skiddo, which is apparently Not a mainstream pick because it's impossible to find anyone else on the planet who likes skiddo

it's a solid chunk of them. in the last month, the furret post has gained 2,649 notes, whereas the blog as a whole has garnered 13,488 notes. simple math tells us it's about 19% of my notes. which is about what i estimated in my head—i guessed it was about 25% of my notes. although that post does have about 100x the notes that a typical post on this blog gets, so bravo you all for somehow achieving that

lucky for you, it's already in the queue. you all are seeing the posts from right at the beginning of the model hell right now—i've actually gotten through it decently well at this point and i'm kinda back in easy territory now that i know how to handle the issues i've come across. not easy easy, mind, as it still takes more work than it used to for every model, but i'm getting them working with much more efficiency than i ever was back when i was doing hattenna and hattrem and all those fuckers. i could redo them nowadays and they'd probably look better, but that's only if enough folks care. anyway, as is tradition, here's your falinks sneak peek:
this one was rather nice to me, if i remember correctly. and i do love me some falinks. they'll go up on saturday at 1:20 PM — stay tuned!
eastern time! that means at the time of writing this, it's 4:42 PM! i've said it a few times, but just for reference: the queue posts pokémon at 1:20 PM and 4:40 PM eastern time every day. impidimp just went up as i was writing this, actually!
i'm glad some folks are enjoying it. i remember it being somewhat hellish to make, but that was back before i'd refined my strategy. it's still unfortunate that this strategy will only Really work for gen 8, though, and will likely stop working in gen 9. but i know what i'm doing now, for the most part, and hopefully i'll be able to figure it out when we get there

not sure if i've ever gotten a request for a shiny pokémon before. i don't want to make a habit of doing requests (and you're right, i probably should make an FAQ where i tap the sign to read the blog description, with how many asks i get of folks showing up, not reading the description, and sending in requests [actually, if they're not reading the blog description, why would they read an FAQ?]) but since i love wooloo and this is a one-off that is technically not out of natdex order because we've already seen wooloo, i'll do it just this once:
however i will be playing the favoritism game here. if you want a shiny pokémon, it must be 1. a pokémon that i like and 2. one that is easy to get and use the model for. there. now nobody else will ask
i'm probably gonna do gmax forms once we hit the end of the galar dex! at the very end of calyrex, that is—i have no guarantees i'll be able to get all the models for the gmax forms, but y'know. i've had the same issue with just Regular pokémon. i also don't remember all the pokémon that even Have gmax forms—i'd have to google it. and i will, when we get there (probably) (someone may have to remind me)
and now, curse of one THOUSAND nose ratings because it's been forever since i've answered any asks (WHOOPS)
long story short, i managed to figure out a repeatable method for getting pokémon to work. this repeatable method does still take more work than it normally would for pokémon whose models i can find easily, but it still works. also, this method will only work up until the end of gen 8, and is likely not applicable to gen 9, which will require some more work and a new repeatable method to be discovered. i'm putting in Way too much effort here! but. y'know. every pokémon is someone's favorite. i keep telling myself that
