Just watched the Librarians: The Next Chapter episode "And the Ghost Train," and when they showed present-day Bella onscreen and it was an age-appropriate actor and not the Young Bella actor in a wig and age makeup, I stood up and cheered! Let old people work! And let us suspend disbelief about characters looking slightly different 50 years later ffs!

okay but an au where vik does become just another one of the library’s artifacts while charlie gets to stay as a guardian. and the days where she thinks nobody is watching, her new librarian catches her talking to him sometimes
#i think all the time about 'people as artifacts' in the librarians universe#jenkins for one. and stone's line about vikram 'living out his days' i wrote a fic about#literally i have a librarians au for another fandom that has this as central angst lol it's so painful. what if you had a catalog card.#anyway not the point. the point being vikram as another artifact--#also im not sure which i like better this being more 'he's not allowed to leave/on house arrest' or something more literal (ie a statue#or something like that) because both have so much potential but in different ways#anyway . as i was saying. the point being vikram as another artifact in the library#another dusty old thing on the shelf. out of place out of time#except at least now--unlike how it would have been at the start--charlie's there#and she isn't supposed to--and despite being so rules-oriented and desperate to prove herself#to follow the rules and earn her second chance--but she talks to him anyway. visits him.#also im not even big into the ship but there's gotta be a funny but tragic pun here about checking out the artifacts right. lmao#ANYWAY. yeah. yeah . yeah. cries#also the concept of a new librarian in this scenario... presumably not connor or lysa. but not one of the ogs either#and just. them having to uncover their mysterious guardian's backstory#and why she talks to the artifacts. one in particular#(this is more tragic/mysterious if vikram is/looks like some kind of Artifact Object/Item#but also the idea of them following her on one ofh er mysterious forays into the stacks...to see her talking to some guy#is kinda funny. esp if they recognize him from the portrait walls as a librarian who died a very long time ago. and wonder if he's a ghost#wonder how she knows him. wonder what he did to be there.)#oh hey. vikram as judson. god.#obviously not literally but in the sense of him being in the mirror and giving guidance#is it worse if he's dead/somehow melded into the library for this or if he's just. stuck in a room somewhere with books.#a comfy study. a gilded birdcage. allowed to look out through his magic mirror like a fucking princess in a tower (lady of shalott lol)#allowed to share knowledge act as a bob-the-skull-esque exposition machine a living book#but not allowed out. not anymore.#OGUHGOHUGOHUGHH. im going insane.#im definitely going to make some stupid crossover fusion au with this idea that i'll never post lmao#maybe i should write one ACTUALLY WITH VIKRAM LMAO
