there really is a fascinating phenomenon where the most rabid ML Posters who are the most pro china pro USSR posters take up political positions that are almost perfectly the opposite of the actually existing positions of the USSR and, more hilariously, contemporary China. Like wow you don't believe in age verification online? you think people should be able to freely and openly conduct sex work on the internet? you find pro family narratives and state incentives distasteful, and support the open and free association of homosexual relationships? You're anti draft? and you believe in open borders and free migration?

But you offer total and "uncritical support" for "actually existing socialism?" Is the actually existing socialism in the room with us right now

i think its interesting that nowadays people find hell to be immoral conceptually, but it was actually a theological innovation which was socially progressive and a significant moral leap from previously existing afterlife conceptualizations. Being judged for your deeds and your ethical conduct was significantly more moral than the afterlife reflecting ones social status in life, as was the norm previously
