Why does everyone hate me. I’m at a pohela boishakh party right. And the colors are white and red. But my aunty gave me a pink sari to wear because the other girls were going to wear the same one, but they’re wearing the same one because they’re in a dance group, and I’m not in the group?? And she knows this??? So why in the hell am I wearing this?????? I’m sitting here looking like an idiot because everyone else is wearing red and I’m in my pretty pastel perfect pink alone.

iirc ramshackle might be older than nrc? pomefiore's the oldest dorm, and snow white is the oldest disney movie, so we can assume that the dorms were founded in the order their respective movies were released. but the thru the mirror short is older than snow white

Yes, I mentioned Pomefiore's age in this post! Though it has yet to be confirmed in official materials, if we assume that the release date of the associated Disney animation represents the age of each dorm, that means the dorms, in order of youngest to oldest would be:

Ignihyde (Hercules, 1997)

Savanaclaw (The Lion King, 1994)

Scarabia (Aladdin, 1992)

Octavinelle (The Little Mermaid, 1989)

Heartslabyul (Alice in Wonderland, 1961)

Diasomnia (Sleeping Beauty, 1959)

Pomefiore (Snow White, 1937)

Ramshackle (Thru the Mirror, 1936)

What’s weird is that TWST tells us very explicitly that Pomefiore is the oldest dorm, even though Ramshackle is also said to be a dorm (there’s dialogue implying students used to be housed there). This results in a contradiction because if we assume the year the animation came out indicates how old the dorm is, Ramshackle should be considered the oldest, not Pomefiore.

So… either the animation year = age of the dorm assumption is incorrect (because, to be fair, this is a theory and not confirmed by the game), or there is a technicality in-universe which strikes Ramshackle from the running. Maybe Ramshackle didn’t start off as a dorm and only became one further down the line after Pomefiore was already established?? Or maybe since it fell into ruin it’s no longer a dorm to be compared to the other “active” 7??? There’s still a lot we don’t know about Ramshackle, so any of these ideas are equally as likely.

Rather than writing what the Reader would do in the situation, I’m going to assume that they would agree to take care of each boy until an antidote or cure is made. These headcanons will focus moreso on how each boy acts as a child and reacts to the care the Reader gives them. I thought this would be more interesting to read!

P.S. Crowley remains a deadbeat, absentee father.

Curiouser and Curiouser...

Riddle Rosehearts...

...acts like the classroom tattletale.

He generally follows the rules, but he will point and scream if he catches someone disobeying them. Riddle also will not take anyone picking on him. (”(Y/N)! Ace is fallin’ asleep in class again!” “(Y/N)! Floyd is being mean to me!”)

Riddle will try to kick the people he dislikes in the kneecaps.

He likes to be held in your arms and carried around, usually clinging to our shirt with tight little fists. Trey works, too! He’s attached to the two of you.

Little Riddle pouts a lot when he doesn’t get what he wants.

He’s definitely the type to play pretend kitchen and hold those tea parties with stuffed animals, plastic tea sets, and fake food.

Riddle gets really creative with it, too! He has a name and a backstory for each of the stuffed animals, and he will introduce them to you enthusiastically, as though they are real lords and ladies of the court.

He always wants to eat snacks! The sweeter, the better--but he will happily eat his vegetables if you or Trey direct him to.

Riddle will ask for a kiss on the forehead and a stuffed animal friend before he is able to sleep peacefully.

Overall, a generally well-behaved child with an active mouth and an even more active imagination!

Leona Kingscholar...

...is a surprisingly clingy cub.

Jack felt bad for his senpai of course, but Ruggie found the situation hilarious, much to Leona’s chagrin. Ruggie will use this as a chance to take a vacation from doing Leona’s bidding all the time.

Leona will hold onto your hand or onto your sleeve. He’ll whine for your attention if it strays too long from him, reminding you that you need to take responsibility for him being a child.

He still refuses to eat his vegetables, jerking his head this way and that to avoid being spoon fed baby carrots and peas.

Little Leona also hates baths...!  He wants to be a feral beast covered in dust and mud and grime!

He hates being bossed around and being told what to do! If you try to order him around, he’ll stick his tongue out at you and shout, “Don’t tell me what to do, old man/lady!”

Leona shimmies up into a tree and refuses to come down until you bait him with promises of cuddles, toys, meat, or a cozy blanket.

He’s such a demanding kid...but at the end of the day, his sleeping face is so cute and innocent that you forgive him for being a handful when he’s awake.

Azul Ashengrotto...

...is such a squishy, soft crybaby!

He tries to act all tough and like this situation doesn’t bother him, but it’s not long before he breaks down into tears and cries about how he hates being a stupid, fat, useless octopus.

Azul will find the nearest pot and claim it as his new home to sulk.

You need to coax him out with the promise of unconditional love and acceptance. Azul will let you and the eels see him in his current state, but no one else!

Floyd loses his patience with Azul far too quickly, and he devolves into bullying the little octopus too much! Jade will help you with preparing meals for Azul, but occasionally he will let a chuckle or a mean-spirited comment slip out.

Little Azul is almost just as bad as Leona when it comes to eating healthy foods. Little Azul just wants to eat junk food--but you are able to trick him into eating healthy by sneaking veggies into his junk foods (black bean brownies, anyone?).

Azul cries whenever you or the eels need to leave. He cries at just about every little thing, actually. Please don’t tease him or take his favorite toys away, his feelings will be badly hurt.

He clings onto you with his tiny tentacles.

He will spend his time reading books and writing complex spells with his 8 (10 if you include his non-octopus arms) and the ink he has spit up from crying so much, trying to find a cure for his condition sooner!

Azul ends up getting tired at the end of a long day, and you need to tuck him away despite his drowsy protests.

Malleus Draconia...

...is very shy and quiet, even as a child.

Sebek panicked so much upon hearing the news--but Lilia was very amused and told you he looks forward to seeing how your childcare skills are as he holds Sebek back. Silver quietly wished you good luck.

Malleus speaks very little (only really talking when necessary). Malleus will usually point to things he wants, or whatever interests him.

He has a habit of hiding behind you when you go out into public.

Little Malleus has the most adorable eyes...! They are very wide, very round, with thick eyelashes and an alluring quality to them the longer that you stare.

He spends his time as a child enjoying the feeling of being small (his adult form is massive!) and staring at the world through his new stature.

Malleus likes to wander off on his own to explore, which worries you (and Sebek) to no end. He’s able to find his way back just fine, though--he can take care of himself!

Malleus is the type of little kid that will try to feed wild animals and pick those weeds that look like yellow flowers to make a little bouquet for you.

Treat him to some ice-cream; he will happily lap it up and get ice-cream smeared all over his face.

He spits up fire when he’s particularly excited! Malleus apologizes for it afterwards, it’s just harder for him to control his powers as a child.

Malleus asks you to read him a bedtime story before he settles off to sleep with a content smile on his face.

i learned about Tim Wong who successfully and singlehandedly repopulated the rare California Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly in San Francisco. Do you ever think about how every time Diasmonia asks Sebek to do something, he does it + more than what’s required because they never ask him to do something in the past unless it was a type of trial/a way to train for Malleus.

And how he’s constantly having to prove himself because, even when he gives it his all, it’s never “You did great Sebek” but instead it’s always, “You didn’t have to do that.”
