I poseted a reply to this important article:

This is undoubtedly an important question and it is positive that you (as many others myself among them) are bringing it up. However, I see that in the example picture you are using, is one of my sims which can be interpreted as me being one of those who are AGAINST diversity since the girl is blond. Nevertheless, that picture is misleading.

How is it misleading? Because it suggests that it is up to the CREATOR to decide which creation will get on top. If that was the problem it could be solved quite easily. Yet the truth is much different because those who have THE impact on the pop tab are the DOWNLOADERS since it it they who CHOOSE to dl the creation that is appealing to them.

In order to demosntrate and exemplify the statment above, I want to encourage you to take a close look at my TS4 catalog on the gallery were you will see a DISTINCT pattern. This pattern is very clear and it is tracable as far long back as one year.

What is the pattern then? That the sims of colour get LESS DLs than white sims naturally. BUT! That is NOT all. There is a lack of diveristy WITHIN the dominat colour which I want YOU to pay a very close attention to. Namely, do ALL “white” faces get DLs? Or is there discrimination and hierarcy within a “race” just the same as it is in IRL (ofc there is it is just a tabu)?

To summurise, the question of lack of diversity on th TS4 Gallery is far more deep as it is NOT limited to neither the creators nor race. And definetly and absolutly WE all should highlight it and attend to it in order to my some POSITIVE changes!
