I honestly can’t get over how terrible this incarnation of Negan is, for a multitude of reasons. Part of me wants to write a very long essay examining every factor that’s detracting from his characterization and the other part of me just wants to go lay down in the dirt. When I told Seth Gilliam he played my favorite character on the show, this stayed true. Father Gabriel is still my favorite character on the show. Watching AMC!Negan is like reading a bad fanfiction.  Drawing a distinction is difficult. I can’t say to myself, “This is AMC Negan. He’s a different character from the Negan from the comics.” While I realize this, I hate him for not being comic!Negan. I can’t not compare him to comic!Negan. Every time JDM delivers a line taken directly from the comic I cringe (and perhaps that’s partly why it’s so difficult to draw a clear distinction from the two– because comic book dialogue is being used verbatim, because this character is being carried by it). I’m infuriated that AMC!Negan would have the audacity to say something comic!Negan said, and to mutilate it– To deliver it so derisively, coat it evenly in sarcasm, seemingly mocking the original Negan. The true Negan. The real Negan. To me? The only Negan.

So the trailer for the Slenderman documentary premiered today, detailing events of the stabbings. The footage they used came from a lot of youtube videos including TribeTwelve. My question is, did Showtime ask for permission to use this in connection to the stabbings? You don't have to go into detail, a yes or no will do. I was just curious.

It was HBO, and no, I have talked to Troy and Mike Diva and none of us were contacted for permission to use our footage. Because their use of our footage in the documentary is transformative it is protected by free use and is legal. I have heard conflicting reports whether we are credited at the end, however. I guess we’ll have to wait and see when it comes out. I still am unsure how I feel about all this.On one hand, I’m upset they just lifted our work without permission and possibly without credit, but on the other hand I don’t want to be associated in any way with an attempted murder.

Weird shorts like this and Over the Garden Wall are becoming the best part of Cartoon Network. They certainly top stuff like Teen Titans Go and just about any of the other vapid dribble they show on the channel these days

My pilot for Cartoon Network was just released! It’s called Infinity Train. It’s about a girl, her robot, and a corgi king. It took us about a year to make and I really hope you like it. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, I wouldn’t have been able to make this without the support of so many wonderful people!
