After careful consideration, we have decided it is safe to introduce ourselves here.

Greetings, this is Fleet Admiral [———] writing to the "Overnet". We are writing here to let the rest of (what seems to be) the galaxy know of our existence.

We are a stellar base operating, as of this date, on the edge of the galactic plane on a polar orbit (or as inclined an orbit as we can achieve), so best not to bother trying to reach us.

~60-70 years ago, long before anyone on board was born, the base, operating as a massive research station, decided to desert the Terran Accord due to political tensions, running off with any advancements in jump drive technology being made at the time.

We've been running since then, improving our technology little by little almost daily since that day. From what we could piece together from reports on here, the Accord having our technology would not have made much of a difference. Oh well.

Back to now, a few months ago, the first test of two technologies we will not get into right now went underway, resulting in the requisition of the device that would let us communicate with this "Overnet". — FADM [———] of FTSB [———]
