FtWS Kink Meme: Last Days!

Tuesday, February 28th is the last day of the Kink Meme. At midnight (UTC-3) on February 28th/March 1st, the dreamwidth site will be closed to all new comments including new prompts. 

You can still fill any prompt you would like by posting to the FTWS Kink Meme Collection on ao3. This collection will remain anonymous indefinitely so you will always be able to anonymously answer a Kink Meme prompt in that collection, no matter how far in the future!

This also means that if you so desire, you can choose to reveal your prompts and/or your fills. To reveal your fills on ao3, remove the specific work from any Anonymous collections on ao3 and message us (winxsource.tumblr.com) and we will locate the work and make it non-anonymous.

Since this is the last 48 hours of Kink Meme, we encourage you to take another hop over to the dreamwidth and submit your last prompts, comment on fills, and leave “+1"s or other encouraging notes on any prompts you really want to see filled!

I saw it in the rules post. It reads "The event will run from Feb 11th to Feb 23 so any prompts or fills need to be sent within this timeframe."

But then I saw that ask saying Feb 28 and I didn't know if I wasn't understanding something.

The event goes on until the 28th, meaning the dreamwidth anonymous board will be open for prompts/fills until then, but the AO3 collection will stay open and anonymous indefinitely.

If I want to post a reply to AO3 do I have to post by 28 Feb?

No, if you're posting to AO3, you can post whenever, the anonymous ftws_kinkmeme collection will remain open.

The only change is that after Feb 28th, no new prompts or fills will appear in the dreamwidth page.

Just in the dreamwidth page, because the event is over. AO3 will stay open indefinitely!

HOW TO POST A PROMPT ON DREAMWIDTH

COMMENTS WILL BE DISABLED UNTIL THE EVENT STARTS

STEP 1: Go to the post titled FTWS KINKMEME 2023

STEP 2: Click on Reply on the post (bottom right corner)

STEP 3: Select Anonymous

STEP 4: Type in the Subject (Don’t forget to use the format “CHARACTER X CHARACTER + KINK/TROPE (TW: XXXXX)”

STEP 5: Write your prompt, and feel free to elaborate as much or as little as you want.

STEP 6: Click Post Comment

HOW TO POST AN ANON FIC IN AO3 (Then change it later)

If you’re participating in the KM and don’t know how to post your fills anonymously on AO3, here’s how you do it!

Before we start, note that for this event you don’t necessarily have to post it on AO3, you can just post it on dreamwidth. But if you choose to do it, we ask for you to follow this tutorial and have your work be anonymous at least until the event is over, then you can claim it as your own if you wish.

HOW TO POST YOUR WORK ANONYMOUSLY

STEP 1: Click on “POST” and then “New Work”, as you would if you were posting a regular fic

STEP 2: Fill in the info of your fic and paste it in, as usual.

STEP 3: In “Post to Collection/Challenges” put both “Anonymously” and “ftws_kinkmeme”

STEP 4: Post your work.

For you, the author of the fic will appear as Anonymous [yourusername], but everyone else will only see the Anon name. You’ll still see your fic listed in your works and will still get notifications of kudos and comments, but no one’s gonna know it’s yours.

HOW TO REMOVE YOUR WORK FOR ANONYMOUS

Do this only after February 28th!

STEP 1: Go to your works dashboard and find the listing of your fic, then click “EDIT”

STEP 2: Go to “Post to Collection/Challenges” and REMOVE the “Anonymously” collection (by clicking the x next to it), but KEEP “ftws_kinkmeme”

STEP 3: Click “POST”

All done!

WHAT IS A KINKMEME?

A kinkmeme is where we anonymously ask for and anonymously create works that are often — but not strictly — kinky, either fanfiction, fanart or any type of content you decide to ask for or make!

These prompts and fills can be as quick and dirty or as long and detailed as the author wants. It can be viewed as a challenge to work on as many fills as you can in the duration of the event, or a challenge to do something you wouldn’t do if you weren’t anonymous, etc.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?

Anyone can be part of the kinkmeme, either just suggesting prompts or filling out requests, or both!

By using the platform DREAMWIDTH, it can all be done anonymously so no one has to be ashamed or shy about it. You just have to go to the PROMPTS post and then comment on it with your idea. If you like someone's prompt you can then answer that comment with your work, be it directly writing it in the reply or adding a link to the anonymous story in AO3! (If you’re doing fanart, it can also be posted anonymously on AO3)

Reminder that the fills do not have to be extensive. The idea here is to have fun and quick & dirty will do just fine! 

WHEN CAN I SEND OR FILL OUT PROMPTS?

The event will run from Feb 11th to Feb 23 so any prompts or fills need to be sent within this timeframe. After that it will be done and although you’re still welcome to be inspired by a prompt, it’ll have to be posted directly on AO3, seeing as the dreamwidth meme will be closed (just don’t forget to add to the AO3 collection).

The short window allows for a more engaging event! 

WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO FILL PROMPTS ANONYMOUSLY?

For the fun of the event, everything MUST be anonymous, however feel free to reveal yourself once the event is over and even post your work to our collection in AO3.

ARE ALL SHIPS AND KINKS ALLOWED?

Any ship in the Fate: The Winx Saga universe is allowed, be it canon or not.

Any kink is allowed, however you MUST include a warning for the following at the title of your prompt or fill: dub-con, non-con/rape, incest, under 16, violence, necrophilia, bestiality, age gap (over 10 years gap) and CSA (child sexual abuse).

RPF (real person fiction) is also allowed, provided it is correctly tagged so people can filter it out. 

CAN I FILL A PROMPT THAT’S ALREADY BEEN FILLED?

Yes! You absolutely can, but you CANNOT continue fills that are not yours without the original author’s permission. If you’re inspired by another fill but your work is different from the previous one, just don’t forget to link it and say: “This work is inspired by [...]”

CAN I FILL MY OWN PROMPT OR FILL UNPROMPTED

Yes! It’s all anonymous so no one’s gonna know if you fill your own prompt. In fact, in order to keep the prompts and fills organized, if you write something that hasn’t been prompted we ask for you to first write a prompt and then answer it with your fill.

CAN I COMMENT ON A FILL WITH MY THOUGHTS ON IT?

Comments are encouraged! However DO NOT comment negatively, express hate, or kinkshame (saying that a kink is disgusting or morally wrong). This is a Your Kink Is Not My Kink space. Positive comments and feedback only!

DOES THE PROMPT OR FILL HAVE TO BE KINKY OR SMUTTY?

Not at all! If the prompt isn’t explicitly asking for smut or kink you can definitely write something gen, teen or mature!

FIND MORE INFORMATION ON HOW A PROMPT OR FILL SHOULD BE POSTED HERE:

In the SUBJECT portion of the comment, use this format: “CHARACTER X CHARACTER + KINK/TROPE (TW: XXXXX)” (If there's no trigger warning, just leave this bit out). In the comment itself you can expand on your prompt, be as vague or as specific as you’d like!

Don’t forget to select the ANONYMOUS option. That way you don’t have to create an account to post a prompt, comment, or fill.

Please write your fill first in a word document/google doc and then paste it here, or provide an AO3 anonymous story link, seeing as if it breaches any of the rules above it will be deleted. Back up your stories!  If your story got deleted for improper tagging, you're welcome to upload it again with the correct tagging.
