Just had a customer who when I asked her if she wanted me to scan something for her(cause she didn't do it and was paying) decided to throw something at me. Luckily I dodged.
But joke's on her, she was wearing a company uniform with name and number, so guess who's calling her company and complaining.
I did that once when I was a manager. I even invited their manager over to watch the video of them abusing my cashier. The customer came in and threw a fit claiming we got them fired. But we didn't get them fired they did that to themselves.

1. Blast music on their phone
2. Talk on their phone or talk loudly to whoever they’re with (i could care less if you whisper as long as you’re actually keeping it down)
3. Eat in library
4. To not sit in front of the limited public use computers if they are not using them (especially if they refuse to move when you ask them to)

So this customer placed an order late last week and one of the items was special order (listed as such on the website, with an estimated timeframe) so I sent them an email letting them know we'd send the rest right away and restating how long the special order would take.
They email back upset that the website didn't say the item was "backordered" (again, it says right on the website this is special order and takes longer to ship, also special order is not the same thing as backorder) and demand that we cancel that item because they're in a hurry. I tell them we can do that if they want, but it will actually make the rest of the order take significantly longer, because instead of some items going out that day or the next and the special order going out later, we'll have to take the whole order out of the queue and put it on hold until the refund is processed and an updated invoice is generated, which can take 2-3 business days, and then it will go back into the queue at the end of the line, which will be another 2-3 business days to get through shipping again. I ask them to confirm that knowing this, they still want to cancel the special order item. They say yes, they definitely want to cancel it.
Today (three business days later) right before closing they call in blazing mad that their order hasn't shipped. I pull up the order and recognize it, and tell them hey, looks like it got held up for a bit because there was a request for a partial cancelation, but the refund has been processed, it's back in the queue and based on its position it will probably go out tomorrow.
Customer loses their mind yelling that this is insane and next time she'll buy direct from the manufacturer (who is on the other side of the planet and only sells through dealers, but never mind) explains slowly and loudly that "slow is BAD" like she's talking to a toddler and hangs up on me.
Like, yeah it sucks that we're so short handed it takes a few days for cancelations to be processed, but YOU waited until the last minute to order your stuff, YOU didn't read the estimated shipping time frame on the product description before ordering, and when I specifically told you the cancelation would cause a significant delay YOU confirmed you understood that and still wanted it done. If you hadn't gotten impatient it would have gone out days ago. Heck, even the special order would be halfway here by now. We might be slow, but the extra delays on your order were entirely caused by you and your unwillingness to read or listen. We're transparent about how long things will take and have actually consistently been within the time frames we provided to you since the order was first placed.
Also screaming at me after shipping is closed for the day speeds up nothing, it literally cannot go out until tomorrow, which is when it would have gone out anyway at this point if you hadn't called and thrown a fit. There is nothing I can do to make it get to you faster.

SmartPet reduced the employee discount on proprietary brands from 50% to 30%, people got so mad they wanted to unionize, and now the 50% is back not even two weeks later. Just the THREAT of a union set them straight. Don’t EVER let anyone convince you unions don’t work/are overrated/cost too much/etc.

I work at a big fragrance product store, and the amount of people who will just rip into an unopened package, without using the nearby tester or asking one of the sales associates to help them find a tester, is soooo fucking frustrating. I know you want to know what it smells like, I agree that’s reasonable when shopping for fragrance products, and that is WHY we fucking HAVE TESTERS! Even worse, we have a small lip product section, and while most of our body care products aren’t plastic sealed, the lip products ARE plastic sealed, and finding opened lip products when all the testers are RIGHT THERE next to the unopened sealed products actually drives me crazy. Are you stupid?? Do you think these are sealed just for fun?? If you want to try something and don’t know how, just ASK!!!!

>call manager over and explain situation
>manager kisses white ass and assures her she'll check the security footage and gets her contact info
>black lady has left in the commotion
>white lady eventually leaves after giving contact info to manager and having her ass kissed
Personally, I think the white lady was trying to start some shit and maybe get a lawsuit going or something, because it honestly did not look to me like the black girl was trying to steal at all. I think the white woman was just racist. Why would that girl steal out of her purse at the register in front of an employee and several customers directly under a security camera?

We're a small business, so we have three registers and a self check out. The self check out helps when we're slammed and we can get people out the door more easily.
Recently, one of our cashiers had taken it upon herself to "police" the self check out and micromanages customers when they use it, it's lead to complaints and reports that customers feel uneasy when she watches them.
Managers have tried speaking to her about it but she just won't listen, saying customers will steal if she doesn't watch them.
We got jam packed today and we didn't know why. Tuens out she had made a sign that said the self check out was broken (it wasn't) so she could check people out herself.
That was the last straw and we let her go. Good riddance.

They are not designed to be benches or chairs; they were only designed to display our product. Therefore we cannot guarantee they will hold someone's weight. Not only that but we have shelves and hooks attached to them and they will hurt like hell if you bash your stupid skull on it.
Also we do not want to deal with injuries. We have enough paperwork to deal with as it it let alone trying to file an incident report. If you need to sit then you can sit on the bench outside.
