one thing that i havent seen too many people mention is that jax is, genuinely, pretty good at what he's trying to do: push everyone else away from him.

he's pissed off zooble enough times that they wouldn't dare to help him with anything, he's made gangle terrified of him, he... doesn't need to do much but ignore kinger, he's built up a rocky enough relationship with ragatha that even when she tries to be nice to him, they both know that she'll never be able to get close to him in a way that matters. even pomni, b4 the "not anymore" moment in e5, pretty much only tolerated him at best, and now he's managed to convince himself that she hates him. sure, we know that's probably not going to last long-term, but he's sure of it.

congrats, idiot. you've completed your goal of making everyone hate you.

and it's literally killing you.

Abstracted Jax Ideas

Building on top of the idea of his left eye abstracting I was like "Hey... what if he became some sort of hybrid later on that's still sapient but also lowkey a huge cat with the biggest protective instinct ever". Adding some monsterfuckery into my favorite queerplatonic ship YEEHAWW

This motherfucker comes with everything a huge ass cat needs, can't speak in that form but can make various noises, similar to what Kaufmo sounded in the pilot - but he can also imitate noises, such as echoes, cries and purring.

He'll be appearing in writing in my "To Stay Gold" story most likely >:]

He rolled his eyes before looking down at her again, strangely enough still holding onto her hand with his.

"Yeah, I mean I wanna try it right now. The heck are you sayin'? Already havin' second thoughts?"

He really hoped not. This was the first thing he was being genuine and open about in....jesus. Who even knew how long, at this point? He wasn't keeping track, but no matter how long it'd been, he didn't want it to already be falling apart and blowing up in his face.

Why was she suddenly getting flustered at his hand grabbing her own that was obviously still stuck onto his clothing. She got what she wanted, right? Now that the tables were turning and it was her turn to eat, it suddenly became hard to swallow. Jax was letting himself exposed, and she guessed she wasn't entirely mentally ready for it. For how quick he was willing to take a chance on her, at least.
