“We could go to the drive-in, there is a double feature we both might enjoy this weekend,” Spy posited, leafing through the newest edition of the Teufort Reader. He smiled over at Scout, sitting next to him, who just smiled back as he leaned against the table. “Or perhaps dinner first, for something better to eat than popcorn and hot dogs? I’ve found a restaurant you might enjoy. They serve both actual Italian food and that American dreck they pass for Italian, so neither of our tastes will be offended.”

“Oh yeah?” Scout urged, watching Spy’s mind churn as he chewed at the inside of his lip, ideas speeding through his head faster than the younger man could imagine. It was like watching a mental version of his own combat style.

“That tacqueria you and Sniper frequent, is that open in the evening? I haven’t had Mexican food in quite some time! Dinner, cinema, and then a drive out amongst the stars before we retire to my quarters or yours? Or perhaps we should get a room in town?”

“Spy?”

The rogue looked up from his out-loud ponderings, the perfect night out he was organizing in his head, to see his lover smiling at him like he was a small animal doing something dumb but adorable. “Oui?”

“Yer cute.”

How about the rivalry between Scout and Spy?

I saw Scout and Spy and clutched my heart, thinking “If that says otp anon I’m gonna cry” but it was not so thank you :’>

Their best moments:Those rare times when Scout finally gets Spy to lose his shit. The tables turn and suddenly, Scout is the one leaning on the wall, smirking, as Spy gets angrier and angrier.

Their worst moments:When one of them says something a little too harsh. The entire team is worried when Scout hides away in his room and never comes out, not even for meals, or when Spy has a faraway look in his eyes and doesn’t carry conversation on at the table as usual.

My own personal thoughts:I think it’s one of the more disastrous rivalries. Any rivalry with Scout in it would be at LEAST 75% disastrous. As it goes on though, I think they’d mellow out and it would just be daily banter and occasional fights.

He switches out Scout’s drinks with milk sometimesHe’ll hide the energy drinks in his room, where nobody will go, and replace them with water, juice, and milk. Everyone except Scout knows and they keep it like that. It’s Spy’s way of showing he cares, even though Scout doesn’t know.

When he can, he tries to show affectionIt almost never works out because his movements are awkward and jerky. He’s not used to showing affection to the runner but he really wants to change that. Scout denies him at first, just as uncomfortable, but they slowly grow more comfortable together.

I personally think that Spy would follow Scout around on base when the runner is talking to someone else to get more details on his life. Not in a creepy way, Scout knows, but Spy and Scout find it difficult to talk to each other one on one so Scout talks and Spy listens and whoever else is there acts as a crutch. When Scout wants Spy to talk, Spy will sit down with coffee over lunch and talk to Scout about little things. Scout didn’t know personal things before and he shouldn’t know them now, but Spy is okay with him getting used to casual, relaxed talks.
