Last chapter of the Magia Record Another Story manga
I noticed that after cancellation, there was one more chapter published that never made it into a volume. I decided to put it here; it covers the start of chapter 5.
TL;DR: Click below to see Shifty Ui, confused Homura, and Madoka being cute.

As a Puella veteran can I ask you something? I was looking through the Puella-magi.wiki witch catagory and I noticed that almost 50% of the witches have personalized theme songs that I can’t find audio on anywhere.
Am I missing something? The songs have titles but are super short so are these theme songs something that got scrapped from the witches early on?
Oh uhhh I have no idea. Witches and music aren't my thing but I know they are for a lot of folks-- anyone else have an idea?

Ok so after getting to see the events of this timeline Sayaka in scene 0, I thought it might be interesting to analyse the variations in her barrier!
In timeline 3, Sayaka's conflict seems to primarily revolve around Madoka, and the shifting dynamics of her friend group. Initially, she is hurt and confused that Madoka seems to be ditching them for Homura, a girl who she's literally just met. When she discovers the truth, she is upset with Madoka for keeping her in the dark, and Homura and Mami, who she struggles to trust can keep Madoka, her eternally kind yet naive friend, safe. I think this is why this Oktavia is much pinker in palette overall.
Imo, Oktavia's timeline 3 barrier reflects Sayaka's scattering loyalties. On top, is a laser show lit in her magical girl friend's colours. On the ground are her hitomi-like familiars dancing away. Just like how these lights shift and intersect with each other, so do the magical girls constantly clash with each other. As a group, the quintet are scattered and prone to infighting. The fact they are represented with beams of light seems to reflect how thin and tenuous the bonds of these magical girls are.
Meanwhile the ground is filled with hitomis (well, klarissas but yknow). If we take the ground to represent the 'grounded' world, ie her non magical life, well that's been entirely taken over by a girl who's now dancing all over her chance at happiness. When it comes to her friend group, she has lost madoka to the other magical girls, and hitomi to romance. Essentially Oktavia is stuck between an unstable nebulous scattered world of magical girls, and a regular world that has no place for her.
I also feel like the large lantern on the ceiling strongly resembles a soul gem. Unlike in the main timeline where the revelation is what kicks off her emotional decline, in this timeline she learns it very late, when she was already close to her limit. Because she learns this fact so late, and also went into magical girling with slightly more skepticism compared to the main timeline, i feel like this Sayaka didn't experience as much of an identity breakdown, explaining Oktavia's overall lighter colours. However the fact this fixture quite literally hangs over her head like that definitely shows it was on her mind.
When Sayaka makes the decision to become a magical girl, mami is still alive. Unlike in the main timeline where she sees it as her moral duty to take up the mantle thats been left empty, in this timeline she isn't burdened by that. Rather, her decision to fight seems to be spurred on by the desire to protect Madoka- during the HN elly fight, we see her look homura in the eye, and decide she isn't someone she can rely on.
Overall while main timeline Oktavia seems to have been born from misery, timeline 3's Sayaka is much more motivated by anger. That's why she has 2 swords, and has a much more rock-like barrier. This Oktavia isn't born from a quiet tragedy and broken identity- this one's a girl on the warpath.

The throne Oktavia sits on is now yellow- perhaps because she blames mami for placing her into this position?

"You're going to tell me you just wish for other people's happiness? For nothing in return? (...) That's not how the world works."
Sayaka has become disillusioned with the ways of the world. She perceives all the 'hopes and dreams' stuff as nothing but a farce, that isn't how things actually work. I think it makes sense in this case that her barrier is a performance stage. When you look at the stage/background itself, it's actually quite a plain room- yet its being flashily blasted with lights and filled with neon quintet-coloured lasers. This whole magical girl things all just lights and spectacle, really.
Unlike in the main timeline where Madoka isn't a magical girl, in this one she is. Because of that she exists as a much more visible point of comparison for Sayaka, who still very much values being a hero of justice in this timeline. She SEES madoka happily embrace this thankless self-sacrificial existence and is deeply frustrated by her. Sayaka is upset that her wish to help Kyousuke went unnoticed and unappreciated, but this time round she has an example of someone who takes that reality well, someone who is happy to be a magical girl for the sake of it, and she feels her own dissatisfaction even more bitterly.

So yeah tldr: this timelines sayaka has more of a grasp of her own identity, and is motivated more by anger than sadness, leading to a louder, rock-ier barrier that reflects her eventual distrust of her entire friend group

Magia Archive: Kanoko Yayoi
Project is spearheaded by Antimony with her doing the bulk of the translations. BST and nohats assist with translations where need be.
If you're enjoying the translated work then please leave feedback: I can confirm it's very encouraging for the translators and that it motivates them to keep working!
These images are resized to be smaller as tumblr won't let me upload them otherwise. Please check out this google drive I made for all of Antimony's translated Magia Archive works with their accurate larger sizes.

"Culottes" -- this game is teaching us new words! Also think it's pretty cool that her soul gem is in the shape of a needle threader. I think her design is pretty adorable so it's nice to get a full turnaround

User Chocofan on tcrf.net has been scraping information from my website without credit
I've noticed that a certain user (Special:Contributions/Chocofan) on the Cutting Room Floor wiki has been recently taking information from this website without giving any credit. It's so disheartening seeing YEARS of effort put into research on this website be completely disrespected.
Let's take some recent examples: tcrf.net/index.php?title=Prerelease:Touhou_Bunkachou:_Shoot_the_Bullet&oldid=1839282
This screenshot is THE SAME from my website: touhou-memories.com/post/616960817223614464/. The screenshots I am using to compare the development pictures with are taken by me; the resolution, the time of the level is exactly the one in my post, what makes me think the entire page with Shoot the Bullet development was just scraped from here.
The unused Reimu sprites from Touhou 1: gifs are taken from my post: touhou-memories.com/post/667747280124805120/. I took the time to do gifs myself and not take the ones from nmlgc's website, but Chocofan just credits nmlgc for the info, but who the fuck cares who made the gifs that were reposted on tcrf, right? My gifs have lower speed and fully grey background.
Unused stuff from Immaterial and Missing Power: Yuyuko unfinished sprites taken from touhou-memories.com/post/188763467279/. It has exact size and the same white background. Also, this person put placeholders to fill in info for Alice, Remilia and Meiling and I suppose they'll just transfer everything from touhou-memories.com/tagged/unused7.5 and make it seem it's their own research.
Imperishable Night development pictures: again, ver. 0.01 images identical to the ones I posted at touhou-memories.com/post/715436250065223680/.
I could argue there's more stuff from here that's recently posted there, but I guess these examples above will suffice.
This is just Morshe situation all over again: touhou-memories.com/post/747763062369566720/.
I'm so tired from all of this.
I've seen Chocofan made to-do lists for many touhou games to add pre-release info or early builds comparisons. And I'm very afraid that most of my research will just be reposted there. TCRF is a much more popular website than mine so if everything is transferred there my website will have no purpose. Nobody will come here anymore to read interesting trivia about early touhou versions.
I have such a terrible feeling in my stomach from all of this, I've been feeling nauseous and I'm shaking.
