His heart is simply too big and he is so full of love. I know Ran also made a post so I thought I would say a little bit too. I have read all your kind messages, they have made me cry with how much love you all have for this sweet little guy. For context a month after we got Moose we had to rush him to the emergency hospital, where we spent 8 hours in a waiting room just to find out that he had Cardiomyopathy (heart disease) and had gone into heart failure. We then found out that week that his previous owners had never taken him to a vet after he was a kitten and that this was something he’d been dealing with for probably the majority of his life. He turned 4 this year. After this we religiously gave him his meds and things got better for a while. We knew this wouldn’t be a permanent fix unfortunately and a week and a half ago the night we got home from a trip he had gone back into heart failure and we literally dropped our bags off and rushed him back to the hospital where we were told again he had gone back into heart failure and could have almost died had we not taken him when we did. I like to think that he was waiting for us to get home before letting it take over. Luckily he was able to come home again, but we think this is probably the last time he will come back from the hospital, meaning it doesn’t look like he will last another visit realistically. This has been extremely hard on Ran and I as moose has become a huge part of our lives, and formed a very close bond with my cat Momo. These two slept, ate, and played together like it was the air they were breathing. We are heartbroken that his life won’t be as long as it should have been, it’s not fair. But that’s just this breed and something that comes with having pets. Today we took him to get his echocardiogram and were told he was still in heart failure. He’s on five different meds now. We are doing our best, but for now we are just letting him eat the food he wants to eat, letting him nap in the closet (it’s his favorite spot), taking him on car rides and letting him enjoy people watching, and most importantly hugging him as tightly as we can for as long as we have him with us. I hope he lives seven more years just to spite us all, but for now and always we will appreciate the time we have with him. Hold on and hug your pets today, you never know if you’ll have tomorrow with them. ♥️

Dlc lore had me sad enough already, but realizing that Messmer is so much like Morgott, just without omen horns has made me even sadder. Both love their mother and are willing to do anything in their name. Both yearn for a parent's love/acceptance and are found at current, in depressed states. Both were shunned for a trait (abyssal serpent/crucible horns) which hurts them eternally (burning from within/ getting stabbed by horns, having nightmares) Diff is that Marika seems to have given more of a shit abt Messmer than Morgott
