POV: Your professor got fat because you kept bringing donuts to his office.

Story. The professor always seemed to grow rounder over the course of the semester. His class was notoriously difficult, and the students who flourished were the ones who frequented his office outside of class for extra instruction. The students who did the best were often seen bringing boxes of donuts to his office—enough donuts for the entire class, but curiously, these were one-on-one sessions with the professor.

One semester, the professor seemingly doubled in size. A particularly bright student had a sneaking suspicion of the game being played, so they arranged for catering to be delivered when they visited during the professor’s office hours. After a few of these sessions with catering, the professors wardrobe appeared to be shrinking at rapid pace. A new habit started to form. On a catering day, he would cancel class and stay in his office all day. That semester, he was seen less and less around the campus, but those that stopped by his office saw more and more.
