not an ask really but I wanted to mention that for a good few years I had this specific art as my wallpaper on my phone, as my desktop background and, weirdly, as my background on Google Chrome. I really liked this art

14 crush was the first Splatoon related blog I ever kept up with as well as probably the first Splatoon fandom thing I ever interacted with period (that I can remember I was a young ass teen when this blog was active lol). It's staggering that it's been 6 years already... Time flows too fast I don't like it :(

If I did have to ask something it would probably be: if you were to redesign anyone in 14 crush, who, why and how?

I’ve had this question in the back of my mind for a little while now, if you were to go back and do 14-crush again, would you change anything about it? Random little plot points, how the characters interact with each other, things like that! :O

For the most part, I think it was the way it was because of who I was at the time, so it's hard to say I would really change anything...

But, that said, I've had folks come to me and tell me they related to Ahato in a trans coding sort of way, and while I'm really, really so glad people were able to relate to her, I have a hard time taking credit for it because it wasn't intentional at the start. It's something I was made aware of relatively early on, so it's something I kept in mind for a lot of it, but it's something I wish I could've had baked into her character from the start. I would've done more research so I could've made it actual representation and not, like, an accident.. lol...

Also, I probably would've pushed Eighthato more HAHAHA. ive had kids tell me that Crush was their first exposure to queer relationships in fiction and im like WOAH. OK HI??!?? THATS NUTS?!????? and if i knew THAT was gonna happen i wouldve made said queer relationship Canon Way Sooner!!!! rah!!!!!

my old Splatoon blog, @14-crush , is six years old today (9/25). I've grown and changed a lot since I first made it, and im very happy it's still loved... even if modern canon contradicts basically everything it ever did, lol.
