Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled... (Luke 6:21)
Today’s Gospel gives us Luke’s variation of the Beatitudes. One of Jesus’ statements references being hungry. We all hunger for things in our lives especially material things or money. This is not what Jesus is speaking of. Rather he is speaking of the hunger for a better society - a better world where everyone cares for and respects one another - a place where all belong and are accepted.
